Couple months in...

Recommended Posts

So I'm about 3 months in and I've been taking 1 gram of valtrex everyday and still experiencing a little bit of prodrome about once a day or every other day.. My ex moved back and we've been talking. I've avoided having sex and he keeps asking me why bla bla... Which I do want to have Sex with him but I'm scared. If using a condom is it ok even though I'm having no the small prodrome (a little tingle here and there) I also do not get any outbreak besides the lips.. (Of course after dos long to him) Help please! Thanks!

Ah that's so frustrating! I think you have to be honest with him, tell him your status but also thst you're trying to get it under control- but that your body just isn't cooperating. Then you can talk about the risks with sex - that any "iffy" feelings are considered contagious, and that you want to be honest and say that you haven't been clear of any of those feelings since contracting it.

Then, he can process - first, the (hopefully near!) future where you can be together with lowered risk (suppressives, condoms) and then second the immediate future, where he may Need to be a bit patient for a while!

I do have itching here and there it's usually in one spot on the inside of the lip. Usually same spot everytime. Itching is a lot less than the prodrome. And the prodrome lasts for literally one second and goes away that will happen maybe once a day.

Yeah, it's just no telling. I had wondered the same thing myself, because I do have prodrome so frequently. . shedding can start immediately and stop immediately. There are short bursts of it and then long periods of shedding, which results in more viral load. For people like me, I have a harder time accepting the low transmission risk, due to that reason and being so symptomatic. The best you can do is wear a condom and take your meds and inform him of his risks. Start doubling up the day before sex and maybe try a female condom, as that provides more protection and give it a shot. You're asking a very black and white question, where there is notno black and white answer .. I'm sorry doll.. :-)

You can, but I have found, it doesn't make a difference. Example, when I hit one yr w H, I had back to back obs, 8 in total for two months. I took 2grams a day and it made no difference, so I just went back to 500mlg, because why beat up my liver w such a high dose and it not make a difference. Sometimes, people take a little longer to settle down. May I ask if your age? I ask, because I feel those of us that gwtbit early 30s or close to it and past, some if us take a lot longer to settle down if we caught it around that age range. Just an observation of mine.

Well, that's it right there . not good and consistent sleep and do it to ya. Liquor is a trigger for me too... Well at least we mailed a trigger down for you! YouTube the female condom and see how it covers the majority of the labia. It is supposed to feel much better as well for both parties.
