how do i know if I'm about to have a outbreak

Recommended Posts

It's been lil over a week since I've found out i am positive for gsv1. I was prescribed valacyclovir and took 2 pills twice a day for 7 days and then 1 pill daily for suppressive therapy. Past Friday i decided to shave down there. ..which i usually do every week. But I'm not sure if it's from the shaving/hair growing back that is making a lil itch. I have looked and i don't see anything. .I've never had bumps for an OB. I've also noticed i have had more vaginal discharge today. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid since I've found out the news and just overreacting. Has any other ladies had this same issue with shaving and vaginal discharge? Thanks

I itched for quite sometime after my intital OB and discharge lasted a bit after my intital as well. Start journaling your sensations and physical symptoms down there and possible triggers like shaving, sex, alcohol, stress, no sleep, etc daily and the location of them, so you an learn your body post H. That's what I had to do

Ok - just wanted to make sure you were properly diagnosed :)

There are a ton of discussions on here about shaving...I don't have any earmarked but try using the search bar ....

Quick primer: sometimes people have to stop for a few weeks/months while things settle down but over time you should be able to shave again... if that's the case for you, you can try either the depilatory creams or use a clipper and clip short... and make sure to put some zinc cream on after... sinc helps to kill the virus and that will help to soothe the skin
