A combined test for HSV of you have any Herpes viruses outside of HSV, which bekeiveme you do; most of us get at least 2-3 as babies/kids (there are 8 human herpes viruses) and usually healthy people don't notice anything unusual in them. That's what i'm trying to tell you will cross react and give a false positive, if a combined test was taken. Just go to planned parenthood asap and ask for a type specific IgG test. That's the only thing you can do at this point, unless you pay for a western blot out of pocket, which is very expensive.

I'm saying that they may. I've seen them do it at times a d at times not, so I'm preparing you to just say you have had them, so you don't rub into being denied of the proper tests being taken. This way we can find out what your values are. If your values are under 3.5 and no symptoms, we recommend the western blot. So this is just to see the proper test taken and see what they display, as I believe they gave you a bad test that should not be given.

Yes, just walk in.. Say that about 4 mo ths ago you broke put w painful bumps and weren't sure what they are. Then say they went away and then they came back right around your period, so you're starting to suspect, you may have herpes and need a type specific IgG Elisa test.

Trying to catch up here:

 

First, our policy here is to ALWAYS disclose - and I think you got that... AND, don't beat yourself up for what you did in the past. Once you know better, you do better, right? There's so much misinformation out there about H, many people make a lot of poor choices until they get educated about the virus.

 

Now normally I would say you should contact those guys but I'm not sure you have H.

 

 

Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 and/or 2 Antibodies, IgG

 

0.89 IV or less: Negative - No significant level of detectable HSV IgG antibody.

 

0.90-1.09 IV: Equivocal - Questionable presence of IgG antibodies. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.

1.10 IV or greater: Positive - IgG antibody to HSV detected which may indicate a current or past HSV infection.

 

Your result says "Equivocal" - and "Questionable Presence of IgG antibodies" ... so they are saying they are not sure. If you end up with a "Positive" result in your next test then I would recommend that you do the Western Blot. Unfortunately it is not covered by insurance but it would give you a definite result because it tests for 15 markers instead of 1. I'll give you the info below for testing in case you need it, but I would retest with the IgG at the 4 month post exposure mark first....and PP is a good place for testing...

 

I think for right now, I'd take a step back from having sex, and ask yourself why you are wanting casual sex. There is nothing at all wrong with it.... but the INTENT is what is important. If you are just not ready for a relationship, enjoy sex, and and can approach it from a healthy mental place, then go for it. If you are using it as a place of validation or to not be alone or whatever, I suggest you get some counseling and work on YOU.

@wcadancer2010 those are just test results from a website she posted on here. She called the school clinic and they have no values or details surrounding the test, just days positive and negative, so I suggested she go to PP, because I find the test they gave her questionable, w no details.

Well legit to quit person said to go to parenthood and so i made an appointment to go this wed

If i do have this, than its been months already because when i got tested at my school, it already said positive on the results column but negative on the "reference range "

 

So should i just go to my appointment this Wednesday???

 

Also i looked into the whole reference range and it says it should always be negative cause its meant to test negative on a test. (Somethinh like that)

So i asked them that i wanted to get tested for herpes 1 and 2 and said if they use igg elisa and the lady said i would have to call the lab people.

But a good thing is that they have a portal log in for patients and i can check my results and igg values!:)

 

And hopefully it states what test they used for example elisaa.

They said in a week or less i can log in and check
