Feeling like I'm getting sick linked to herpes outbreaks?

Recommended Posts

Hi confused72,

Since herpes is a virus, the first time is always the worse as far as severity of outbreak and feverish symptoms because your body is actually trying to fight it off as if it's the flu. For some, it is normal to get some feverish symptoms for each subsequent outbreak, but it's not all that common, especially over the long term. It will all depend on your immune system and overall health. Over time, most immune systems tend to get herpes under control enough to have less and less outbreaks and less and less feverish symptoms associated with the outbreaks.
