Borderline Test - Negative

I was tested positive for HSV 2 with value of 1.1 back in February 2016. I just recently had another test which my doctor later told me it is a borderline test. The result came back negative. I am so confused with the results. My doctor said he still thinks I am borderline positive based on prior test results. Is it possible to have a 1.1 value and be negative? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
