Hi i recently just found out I have herpes. I never had a Breakout till I started taking Valtrex. Since I started taking Valtrex I have had to break out which before when I wasn't on the medicine I didn't have any should I stop or continue to Valtrex

I would stop the medicine if it exacerbates the OBs. Another option is to ask for another antiviral.

I would talk to your Dr. first. Sometimes medications can have a way of making things worse before they get better... your system adjusting and trying to fight it. I am no longer on Valtrex but when I was I found that cutting them in half and taking it once in the morning and at night helped control the obs for me.

Stop the meds

I've only had one noticeable breakout that I'm aware of in decades, and I don't take any drugs
