Hsv2 from oral?

I have HSV2, and my boyfriend really wants to perform oral on me but we are both worried he might get it in his mouth. But, I give him oral and I have never gotten it. any experience? can you get hsv2 in your mouth? I know that it prefers to live in the nerves in your spine.

You can actually pass hsv2 to him. Are you taking antivirals (like Valtrex)? My internal medicine doctor (who specializes in STDs) said if both partners take valtrex...it lower the chances of transmission, but there's still a low risk.

I take acyclovir when I have a break out. Yes, he is understanding and I love him so much for it. ♥

You should be taking valtrex as a maintenance dose everyday (half a pill / 500mg)....you can still shed without visual symptoms, taking valtrex everyday will lower the chances of shedding the virus. So, that'a my suggestion if you want your BF to perform oral on you...and my advice is for him to take it too even if he's negative...and even during protected sex you should be on a daily dose.

It's extremely rare to transmit hsv2 to oral. I mean like 1% chance. Just go for it!!! I've had this 35 yrs and my husband is virus free after 21 years. It is possible!!! You are much safer because you actually know you have it and can take every precaution to keep him clear. I would take anti viral daily as a supressive.
