Has anyone ever had a Brazilian wax after diagnosis?

Just wondering if anyone has had a Brazillian or any waxing done after knowing they had the virus.

I know not to go when there are clear symptoms but is there anything else I should know? Has anyone has issues with the wax?

Hi! I was just reading up about this since my first OB is clearing up and I was looking to get a wax. I read that artificial wax collects a lot more bacteria and adheres to the skin so may do damage (not sure if it’ll trigger a OB but still doesn’t sound great). HOWEVER, i have read up about sugaring and found out it’s more natural with less chemicals and adheres to the hair follicle rather than the skin. I am making my appointment for next week to try it out as I feel like keeping everything as natural down there is the best option!

@Catlady12 how did your appointment go?  I'm considering getting my bikini done, not sugar, just hard wax.  I did soft wax years ago and had a horrible reaction after the third session.

@SeraLyn I haven’t gotten one, was actually going to go this week since shaving has been irritating the hell out of my skin. I’ll let you know how that goes!

I went this past weekend for the first time since my initial OB in July. So far no problems, I am on suppressive valtrex though.

Glad it went well!  I just stopped my therapy to check back in with my body and listen for the cues again.  I've been talking with my waxer for a few weeks about getting a bikini done and disclosed to her about my Team GHSV2 status, the meds and potential OB and guess what - SHE HAS IT TO!

Imagine my shock to find this out and I've been going to her for my face for about six months.   She's one of the rare birds whose mom had a passed to her during childbirth but didn't have any outbreak until she was assaulted by an ass hat two years ago 😡.  Now she gets outbreaks every now and then.  We musta talked about everything for a good 20 mins after my appointment was finished - everything from transmission, disclosing, symptoms, just real girl talk. She's ten years my junior but has a whole life of experience to my 3 months.

Once i have enough growth (and money) I'm going to get waxed for sure! We'll see what happen 😁
