Are canker sores herpes?

Ok so I have hsv 2 and I have a canker sore NOT A COLD SORE. Does anyone know if I can spread my herpes that way say if I kiss my partner,?! I know this is me being extra paranoid and cautious but please help to ease my mind!

Do you have oral HSV2? (Pretty rare since only 1-2% of all oral cases are HSV-2.) Knowledge is power. It helps you be careful and helps take away the paranoia. Paranoia only happens when the mind doesn't know something and it fills in the blanks with worst case scenario. Good on you for getting knowledgeable on this so you can be safe and careful.

@hHelp yes you are correct a canker sore is not a cold sore. They are not considered contagious. However I don't know if you would want to kiss them anyways since it is quite painful. Also for your benefit of healing someone else's saliva might not help your open wound in your mouth since human mouths have a lot of bacteria. I had a canker sore recently and read theories that is can be linked with HSV and EBV because of the immune system, but I didn't find any good proof on it. Mine has taken a week to start going away.

So I have never been diagnosed with oral hsv 2 just Genital I’ve been really stressed and had a lot of acidic drinks on vacay (hence the canker sore) which is actually barely visible. I have read so much on everything and get discouraged because I don’t know what to believe so the paranoia persists... its just frustrated feeling like I can’t do anything sexually with my parther again (which I know is not the case) it’s just hard.

Believe the facts. Trust reputable sources. Let go of the paranoia. Ultimately it's a practice of calming your mind and focusing on what's true. It'll serve you well not just with paranoia around herpes, but your entire life.
