Flu like symptoms with outbreak

Recommended Posts

I found out I have hsv 2 earlier this year. It started with flu like symptoms.....fever, headache, stiff neck and generally feeling awful. I felt so bad that I wasn't noticing the pain down below. I did notice it hurt to pee and felt like my vagina was gonna fall out when I peed. Once the fever broke, I felt good enough to get a mirror and check it out. There were blisters. Saw my Dr the next day and was diagnosed. (I got this from my cheating husband while in what I thought was a monogamous relationship.... which doesn't really matter except that it pisses me off!)

My question is this.... does anyone else find that the flu like symptoms are the worst part of the breakouts? I don't ever see any blisters but do have the painful urination. The body aches, headache and all over bad feeling are the worst for me. Enough that I have to miss work. Anyone else?

In the beginning it was bad. Take vitamins. Thats what helped me not have that terrible weak, sick feeling.

Thanks for answering. I take Lysine and vitamin C every day. When the fluish symptoms start, I up the dosage. It's confusing to me because I thought the blisters would be the worst part.... and now I never get them. I guess the Lysine stops the OB from progressing.
