Dental dams???

Omg im shy talking about this haha...

So, yesterday was my first time recieving oral after I knew I had herpes but we didn't used protection... (my partner has H too but also don't know which strain...) 

 

 It is truuully necessary to use dental dams/condoms when your partner gives you oral sex? (In my case that idk if I have hsv1 or hsv2 😖)

How were you diagnosed with herpes? Yes, herpes can be transmitted orally. If you both have different strains, you can transmit them to each other through oral sex if you do no use protection.

@bubbles0990 visually 🙄 because my gynob told me that I had to wait lika 6 months to take the test... so i think i won't know if it was a new infection or not right? Just the type 😖

 

But I mean, i wasn't having an ob how likely it is to transmit it to the mouth?

I think if you have same strain you can’t be infected in another place by someone who has same strain not 100% though check with a expert I’d say

You do not have to wait 6 months to take the test. I got diagnosed a month after exposure through a blood test. 

There is a potential risk for transmission, but from genital to oral is unlikely IF you have HSV2 genitally, but can happen. If you have HSV1 genitally, there is a higher chance of transmission to the mouth, but that would depend if the virus is active. Transmission can occur even when breakouts are not present.
