HSV 2 back to back outbreaks

I had my first outbreak 4 months ago and since then I have been having back to back outbreaks! My Outbreak would heal and then I would be fine for 2 days before I would start getting symptoms of on coming outbreak then I’m back to square one. It’s been 4 months and things are not getting better, I’m not able to have sex with my partner for the last 4 months. My first outbreak started just before I got into a new relationship! I’m currently taking supplement to boost my immune system! I don’t want to take antiviral, I wanted my body to come to grips with virus. However, it’s been 4 months and I’m losing hope! I would appreciate any advice.

no advice but to take the medication. i was outbreak free until I started seeing someone now its back to back. I am thinking its the stress of talking to this person and thinking of just ending it and see if it helps. best of luck to you

Hi Sadie, I’m in the same spot. I got diagnosed 3 months ago and had back to back outbreaks, it would heal and then two days later I had new sores. I tried all of the natural supplements but gave into taking medications. I took Acyclovir 5x/day at 400 mg for 30 days but just switched to Valacyclovir 1 Gram per day for regular maintainence or 2 grams per day during outbreaks. I had one outbreak while on acyclovir- no sores but extreme itchiness and burning, swelling of my vulva, but went away after a week. My plan is to take  Valacyclovir for a year and then see where I am at.
