No, they’re 2 very different viruses. Don’t let the paranoia get the best of you. 😉 In this case, knowledge certainly is the antidote to the paranoia.

And by the way, I imagine you might be asking this because of an oft-cited statement that says it's easier to get HIV after you have HSV? If so, the reason for that is assuming that you're having sex during outbreaks, which would allow easier access to new infections, including HIV. (But anybody who knows they have herpes certainly doesn't have sex during outbreaks!) 😉

Aside from that, simply having HSV camping out in your body doesn't make you more susceptible to HIV.

Here's an article on that from the CDC: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/why-genital-herpes-boosts-risk-hiv-infection

@Loyalloulou if you haven't had any risky situation where you could contract it (ex. Having sex with someone hiv+, contaminated needles, etc) then you can be completely sure that your results are 100% accurate 🙂 the window period it's from 4-6 months post probably exposure to the virus to show up in a blood test. So i'm confident to say that you are ok! 🙂
