Which of these apply to you?

Why do you think you have herpes?

I have the typical”sores” or as you said, itchy red bumps on genitals ... also from what you mentioned I’m having brain fog/ hard time focusing, cut/chapped lips, small cuts with peeling skin on genitals, constant itching in anus, discoloration on genitals, constant fatigue, strange things going on with my eyes, itchy skin on butt cheeks. All started with intense pain and itching on perineal area. Herpes test was negative

I’m trying to believe it,  but the symptoms I have match herpes.

    Itchy, red bumps in groin.

Brain fog, confusion,  headaches, hard time focusing and recalling information  (made worse by eating sugar)

Tingling in the nerves of my hands, legs, and feet

    Lip constantly chapped and cut

Small cuts on penis shaft with occasional peeling skin

    Constant itching in my anus

Loss of hearing and a fullness of the ear

    Blisters on gums

    Tingling in lips

    Discoloration of penis glans

    Constant fatigue

Eye pain and constant dry eyes.

    Itchy skin on butt checks

Red, sore skin on corners of lips.

Constant  zits breaking out on forehead with certain spots of throbbing pain

What about any of this does not scream herpes?

Wow okay this is all resonating with me a lot! I have many of these same symptoms as a female and have tested negative for herpes. Big emphasis on pain in Perineal area. I’m not sure either ... but it helps to know we’re not alone

  3. So about 2 weeks ago, just a day or 2 after having sex (with a condom) I started having irritation downstairs. It had the symptoms of a yeast infection so I took over the counter meds, but that didn’t make it entirely go away. I went into the gyno and she told me it looked like yeast and gave me antifungal pills— still didn’t go away. A week later (about 3 days ago) I went back as things were getting worse not better. As soon as she looked she got a look on her face and told me it looked like herpes. Of course, I went into full breakdown. She took a swab for a viral culture and gave me all the info packets and some valtrex  and I left. The next day, she calls and tells me the viral culture came back negative, but she wants me to come in for a blood test. Went in for the blood test right away. At this point, it has been 2 days since the blood test and I still haven’t heard back. The valtrex hasn’t been helping at all and I am still in an incredible amount of pain. On top of that, I’ve been having other, new symptoms — diarrhea with mucus and blood in it, sore throat, upset stomach, etc. The anxiety is killing me... does anyone have any insight on the odds of a false negative on the viral culture ... the other symptoms, the negative result and the valtrex not doing anything all make me want to believe I have something else. Even so, the sores really do look like herpes . Please help, not knowing is killing me!

  4. I just found out today that I have herpes. I won’t know until tomorrow whether it is type 1 or 2. Right now I am devastated. The worst part is not the physical symptoms but knowing this is a lifelong thing and will impact all of my relationships from here on out. I’m only 20  ... I feel as though any boy I tell from here on out will want nothing to do with me. I know one day when I find the right person all will be okay, but I’m so scared of the in between. In the college hook up culture people have sex early on in “relationships” and this means I’ll have to tell a partner before I know for sure he is trustworthy.  Looking for some advice and insight
