  1. Hi there all,

After FINALLY healing from my first outbreak and having the talk with my boyfriend (who was more than amazing about it), we decided to try the whole sex thing again. We took it reeeeeeal easy and found that it wasn't so bad. Two days later, same thing. But I found that I started getting the tingling sensation and my lymphnodes swelled. Cue the Valtrex and home remedies! After what I believed to be preventing the second outbreak, we tried things again. Again, slow and easy. Lots of lube and a lubed condom. This time, two nights back to back. While I didn't have the tingling, I feel as though I have a scab and my nodes are swollen. No tingling, no pain.

Anybody got anything? Any sort of condom or lube recommendations? Not going to lie... I miss my sex life.

  2. I know this post is somewhat old, but I feel as though I can comment.

When I experienced my first outbreak, the only thing I found to help me during "bathroom time" was relieving myself and the immediately using cold wet compresses to clean and cleanse myself. While the actual act of urinating was excruciating, causing me to weep and tremble, the cool, wet compress brought relief.

I hope this helps in the future.

  3. I noticed the tingling sensation 8 days ago and immediately tripled the amount of L-lysine I took as well started my Valtrex. One thing that I haven't seen anybody post about is coconut oil. It has to be virgin coconut oil because that is the type that has antiviral properties. I started applying it topically where I felt the tingling and the sensitive areas 2-3 times a day and never developed a blister :)

  4. Hi everyone.

I'm new here. I was diagnosed with herpes just a few weeks ago with one of the worst outbreaks my doctor had ever seen. He wanted to hospitalize me but I refused due to finals week approaching. The outbreak finally healed just before Christmas. I noticed that the skin where the blisters were was rather sensitive due to the new skin. What I'm questioning is rather or not I have possibly resolved a second outbreak. I had the typical tingling sensation of the prodromal stage and immediately started taking my Valtrex twice a day and tripled the amount of L-lysine as well. The tingling only lasted maybe a full day, then I had one area that was really sensitive. Now, three days later, nothing is happening. Is it possible that I resolved the outbreak before it truly occurred?
