Hm will keep that in mind! I actually angrily wrote an email to CDC before all this. If you need anything else in terms of angry supporter please let me know! If I go back for my swab of my outbreak I'll definitely give the handouts!

@wcsdancer2010 shouldn't something be done? I don't think doctors will have that hold to tell their patient to abstain from sex but it seems like something's wrong that doctors are not universally informed and perform random testings just to appease a concerned patient with possible symptoms. it seems like if everyone is OK with this, then herpes will just continue to be spread because of the lack of everythung. I just really don't like the testing being done and it's not right that people walk away thinking I got a negative test! And the doctor doesn't say WELL that is not conclusive...

@wcsdancer2010 of course!! Just didn't want to seem like a doctor basher and it is not their fault I got herpes. I was careless :\

But really we should use protection! Only way to save ourselves. Doctors are not to blame but the system does seem a bit screwed up!

Agreed! Don't understand how the disease won't be spread if "results" will tell you negative. My doctor told me the only way to know is with a swab of the lesion during an outbreak. So how many people are being told different things by doctors? Then going home thinking they are fine? It's not right. That's how I was infected and it just annoys me/makes me sad/ blah

I'm recently diagnosed so I can't help be paranoid :( especially since I haven't gotten a positive result. Just want that closure!! And the meds! Kidding. He prescribed that to me.

He was a gynecologist :/ it's busy place with lots of babies my nurse practitioner there was a lot more helpful then him.

I just went to my gyno since I thought I had an outbreak since I felt a bump down there but my gyno said the lesions are distinct, it's not a bump but will look like tiny cuts. He seemed annoyed of my false alarm but it was a good learning lesson (recently diagnosed).

I haven't been able to go get my herpes results either because I am afraid to learn that it might be HIV. I have all the symptoms of herpes and the ER said it appears to be herpes, but can HIV and herpes symptoms be crossed?? Or am I being paranoid. Google is scaring me, not really the talk of HIV has been mentioned.

I actually came here to post this video! I think it's more helpful for me because herpes is really not something to be so "woe is me" about. I don't think she is making anyone with herpes look bad but to be grateful. I've been feeling pretty dumpy about getting this a couple of months ago but it made me realize it's not the end of the world! Especially with everything going on in the world!!
