Thanks for the advice. I’m assuming some friends have it but it’s not really talked about so it’s hard to find the right advice on it. For as long as I’ve known my husband he has had some sort of jock itch. He claims the itching is from sweating too much. It makes sense now that it’s probably always been herpes.

My husband and I have been together for just over three years. There has never been a herpes breakout for either of us. I’ve never had one ever, so I may not have it. I’m not sure. Recently, my husband had a break out on the shaft of his penis. At first he didn’t know what it was so he went to the doctor. Found out that it was definitely herpes. So my question is, how true is it that he could’ve caught it years prior to us and is now having his first breakout? I read online that you can contract it but not have a breakout for years but another website said the first breakout is always a few days after contact.
