  1. Hi all, This is my first ever post so I'm both nervous and excited for the support that can be provided. First of all, I had a confusing introduction into contracting herpes. I contracted it in America, with a local doctor telling me for certain following examination that I had herpes. I had symptoms both on my genitals and also at my mouth - so presuming HSV 2? The doctor also took a swab for testing at the time. A week later I got a phone call to say the test came back positive and to collect the result sheet, which I did. When I returned to my home country my doctor could not understand the result sheet which I had, explaining how the terminology was different so she wasn’t willing to agree to the fact that I had herpes – you can imagine my upset and confusion! She asked the next time I experience any symptoms to come to see her and she would test me again. It’s been nearly two years 3 years since my first OB and I have never noticed a noticeable outbreak until now – and even at that I’m not sure. It seems to be one large inflamed area at my perineum and Dr Google told me that it could be a Herpes OB. It is very uncomfortable, sore to touch, stingy, but doesn’t seem to be blistering as I have previously experienced. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance x
