  1. I was thinking exactly that. Heh, but now I'm also afraid I'll trigger an outbreak down there anyway from the pain. Lol. Sorry for the duplicate post. Not sure what happened. I might have clicked post comment twice or something. Thanks WCSDancer! :D
  2. Can a razor that's used below the belt be used in the underarm? Or an epilator. I actually used an epilator and before genital HSV-2 I used it down there and in my underarms. Now I'm afraid that I might spread the herpaderp to my underarm if I do that. Then again I got diagnosed in November last year, so I probably have antibodies built up that I don't have to worry around spreading the herpaderp right to another area of my body (except for my eyes) right?
  3. So I'm in my school's nursing program, overwhelmed, not getting much rest, and am finding my herpes prodrome itching now more than ever. The only way I can relieve this itch is by washing down there. However I start clinicals in a couple of weeks and I spend lots of time at school. How do I relieve the itch in those kinds of settings? Obviously can't wash. Wiping with hypoallergenic baby wipes don't help either. I really don't wanna up my meds too. On top of that, I have a chronic cough and sore throat for over two weeks now. :/
  4. I've actually just been working which hasn't been stressful at all. School would stress me out quite a bit. 70 minute bus rides home from the university to home didn't help. :/
  5. I got accepted to a university's bachelor of science in nursing program so we'll see how that goes. ;)
  6. He said he's never had any signs or symptoms indicating that he's ever had it, but his blood tests shows he has antibodies for both HSV-1 and HSV-2 after I told him I was positive for HSV-2. He has had two unprotected partners since he last got tested before I told him to get tested again while with me. I have been in a monogamous relationship for over a year before my current guy, but before that relationship I wasn't exactly a saint either although I did use protection most of the time. I guess I'll never really know the origins but like you guys said. Blame game doesn't help anything. :/ although I just think it's so strange that I have an outbreak with my newer partner but never had an outbreak during or after my most recently ended relationship cuz I was taking classes like biochemistry and microbiology. I would think that under so much college stress I would have had an outbreak way before if it was dormant.
  7. Is herpes outbreak severity different from dormant to initial herpes outbreak vs initial exposure to first herpes outbreak? I guess I'm curious as to whether I had genital HSV-2 for a while and it was dormant then showed its ugly head in an outbreak or whether my initial exposure was recent followed by an outbreak shortly thereafter. I know my initial outbreak was very INTENSE. I had a yeast infection as a secondary infection to the herp at the same time my first time and was told to buy monistat OTC. Burned!!! Having the monistat vaginally and a herpes outbreak for the first time was a nightmare that I thought I'd never wake up from. Then for a month after I continued experiencing intense prodrome symptoms of tingling that wouldn't stop until the virus finally went dormant like 5 weeks later. Was prescribed 800 mg acyclovir to take 3x a day for 5 days during outbreaks and 400 mg twice a day for suppression. I guess I've been playing the blame game and I want my partner to own up to the idea that his lack of glove usage with a couple of strangers has given us an incurable disease. But maybe its possible I contracted the herp a long time ago and it was dormant for forever. I just wish I knew....
  8. I have genital HSV-2. He has oral HSV-1 and genital HSV-2. Can he give me genital HSV-1? And actually I'm not super sure of where his viruses are located because he only did a blood test and had antibodies for both viruses and claims he's never had symptoms in either regions. He is my newest partner and I had my first outbreak a little over a month after being with him and had a swab done and had it typed so we suspect it originated from him, but we're not totally positive about that either. :-/
