If you have a spa or hot tub it works wonders with the anxiety. A good massage works too. the itchin is in his head from paranoia. Tell him he has the chickenpox virus too but his immune system stops it from coming out so it will be the same with Hsv.

You may never know who got it from who - It may be that you have had it all along and just not had an obvious outbreak. In which case your BF may not have it. He needs to get tested ASAP so you can figure out if you want/need to use supressive drugs.
1 in 4 have it and if you live in a big city like NY, SF or Chicago that number is probably a lot higher. It is what it is.

If you have ever worked in an emergency room or been part of a heart transplant operation you will often hear some of the most obscene\foul mouthed name calling against any nurse that show any incompetence or lack of urgency. Some of the nurses start to take on the same hard edged behavior. The docs need to stay impersonal/nonemotional in that situation or the patient could die. But that is no excuse for the nurses insensitive behavior in a lab. Training is everthing.

My friend got something similar about three months ago and he tested negative. But its best to ask your partner about it regardless of your symptoms. It would help a lot with the anxiety you are having. I know there are some other things out there besides herpes that could cause similar symptoms but I am not an expert that field.
Anyhow this is the best site for finding answers on herpes.

I do know that out here in SF most of the people I well enough to discuss this topic are very familiar with it and have already had their exp with it when they were in their twenties are earlier. Kind of like getting the mumps or chickenpox. its just something that is annoying like poison oak but not life-threatening.

Wonder if those stats can be broken down by age with a sliding scale from like the age of twelve until 90. say its 2/10 by 18 going to 9/10 at 70?

Are you on some kind of health insurance plan? Some of them discourage testing to save money that's why they act like they don't give a damn. You are right they are idiots. Others don't know how to do anything until they actually try it for the first time on you.

yes makes sense. Everybody should be tested for herpes cause they may have it as well
throwing stones is stupid as anybody could get it at any time.
