  1. Hi all, New to this forum. I was diagnosed with genital herpes about 4 years ago and normally have no issues living with my genital herpes. There are still a few things I am figuring out where I think the expertise of this forum would be extremely helpful. My question: is there a risk that I have infected my girlfriend with genital herpes after having slept and cuddled together two nights ago with me discovering a potential outbreak this morning? Full context: My girlfriend was over at my place two nights ago and we slept together in my bed. We didn't have sex / any direct genital contact since I felt what I thought could be prodromes ahead of an outbreak. However, we had a quite intimate session with a lot of kissing and close body contact (both wearing underwears). I was also on 2000mg of Aciclovir during the day and the days leading-up to our night together. There was no outbreak the following day however this morning (two days after) I noticed one small spot close to my penis which could be a sign of an outbreak. So, my question is if there was a risk of me infecting my girlfriend with genital herpes since my (uncovered) thighs were in contact with her thighs and buttocks. This despite both having underwears on and me being on Aciclovir. Really felt remorseful this morning when I saw the spot close to my penis. I know you are supposed to be the most infectious the few days leading-up to an outbreak and I really don't want to have exposed my girlfriend to an kind of risk here. Worth mentioning: I have disclosed my genital herpes diagnosis to her when we started dating. Many thanks!
