[When to disclose herpes?]

It’s been 10 years since diagnosed (HSV1 genital) and while I know the transmission is lower (least likely) from woman to man I still disclose. All have been unsuccessful. I have tried to disclose early and I recently waited 6 months of consistent dating (no sex) to disclose and still unsuccessful. I’m at a point where I don’t want to disclose at all bc how do I know when it’s the right time and who to tell. I feel like I’m going to end up having to disclose to the whole world before finding someone to accept me. I’m at a point where I just don’t even want to have sex anymore because I’m tired of telling people. Now everyone knows my business. Sorry this turned into a rant

Not that often. Maybe once a year. I went bc I had started dating someone I really liked and wanted to marry so I wanted to see if medicine would help transmission. To be clear, she said I didn’t need to bother disclosing bc the majority of ppl have HSV1 and if he has ever had a cold sore then it wouldn’t matter if I disclosed. Turns out he never had one so I did disclose. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to move forward with the relationship after I told him. I’m sure if I pushed to get medicine, she would give it but yea I was just confused.

I’ve had HSV1 genital for 10 years. Only took meds the first OB. I went Beto the doctor this year and asked about medication. My doctor stated they don’t recommend medications bc of the kind I have. She also said I don’t need to disclose. I’m so confused

I recently was dating someone for months and decided to disclose. He decided he wanted to end it. It has been so heavy to deal with. It’s been 10 years since I found out but the rejection isn’t easy. You’re not alone.
