I have had hsv2 for 30 plus years. Lately been having more frequent outbreaks. When outbreak has healed continued symptoms in leg, butt. Burning, itching, pain but no visible outbreak. I am concerned about this and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if this is common. Thank you!

I have been having more frequent hsv 2 outbreaks than usual. I have taken Valtrex in the past off and on. i have read where long term use can cause kidney problems. This makes me very nervous and was wondering what the medical opinion is on this. I have had this virus over 30 years but for some reason I am have more outbreaks and nerve pain than prior years. any info would help! Thanks
