Thank you so much!! I know I am HSV 1 and HSV 2 neg. I had a full panel done when all of this happened. We are waiting on the western blot to arrive. We just want to be safe and assume he's positive until we know for sure. Thank you for all the advice and support!!!

Your blog was very helpful WCSDancer2010. I have a few more questions. Forgive me if they are too explicit, but if I can't ask here, where can I ask? My boyfriend can't achieve orgasm while wearing a condom. Nor can he from hand stimulation. My understanding is that to decrease transmission of hsv-2 a condom is suggested. Given my previous statement any more advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much WCSDancer2010!! We will look into the western blot today. I am negative. Since you are positive and married, is your husband positive? If so was he before? If his western blot comes back positive, we then face the question of how to not transmit it to me. I really appreciate your advice and support! This has been a very trying time!

My boyfriend has never shown any symptoms of type 1 or type 2 herpes. He was tested at STDexpress and his results were Hsv 1 1.59 Hsv2 1.18. 1.10 positive The test uses IGG type specific AB It utilizes recombinant type specific antigens to distinguish between hsv-1 and hsv-2. It cannot distinguish between past or current infections. He was tested again 4 weeks later and the results were the same. Is there another test that can be run to confirm if he truly has herpes? He and I engaged in oral sex on 4 occasions and had unprotected sex on 3. I have been tested 4 times, with 3 weeks between tests. All are negative. He contacted any previous partners he could get ahold of and they also tested negative. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
