Hi all! I am new here so bear with me.
On July (4th) I took a drink after one of my best friends. I later (a couple of months) find out that she gets coldsores. At that time I had never seen her with any type of cold sore around her mouth, and I have known her almost my entire life. She didn't have any visible sores when I took the drink either.
I am now noticing irritation around my lips. They are very dry if I don't have chapstick on them. They feel very tight when I smile, or yawn. I also seem to have a burning sensation. They burning isn't necessarily constant and it can be in one specific area or all over. Its kind of on the border of my lips. I drink lots of water throughout the day and try different kinds of chapstick (vermilion border?) I was tested on August 8th and October 10th, both negative. I was so relieved, but I'm still having this burning soreness on and around my lips. I haven't had any blisters or sores of any kind. I am going to the doctor again tomorrow to get another blood test and to see what he says.
Could this be herpes? I have never had a cold sore so I don't know if this sensation I'm feeling is what it would feel like or not. Is it just boiling under the skin and waiting to rear it's ugly head?! I find myself constantly looking online for similar symptoms & I'm freaking myself out.
Could I just be overdoing the chapsticks and lip balms?
Any advice/input/ideas would be so appreciated!!!
Thanks, Han
