  1. I've never *had these symptoms at all. You are right though. Thanks again for your advice!
  2. I really appreciate you taking time to deal with my anxiousness :) I know that's probably a big part of my problem. I think the reason I'm freaking about this one is bc I've never noticed these symptoms until after I took the drink after her this time.
  3. I will be going to a dermatologist to see what he says and he can take a look. It's just for some reason I can't get this hsv thing out of my head and these symptoms I'm having. I've read some forums with people who have the "prodrome symptoms" (like tingling or burning) for months and months without a positive blood test. So then that makes me think that I could possibly have it and just not seroconverting yet.
  4. Thank you! I'm still having issues with my lips feeling irritated. Almost like a burning sensation under the skin along with general dryness (I know weather has some to do the the drying) my last tests (dec2) came back negative. I now have a red spot on my lip. I smiled a couple of days ago and felt a little soreness in this spot and now it's red and looks like broken skin. It seems to be in one of the creases of my lip. I just don't know what to do..
  5. How do antivirals affect blood tests for hsv, or do they? If antivirals were taken for a couple of weeks in June or July and last testings were done December 2nd, would that have any affect On my blood work?
  6. Thank you guys for your replies! I went to the doctor today &he said to try Vaseline. So I'm going to use that, I also just picked up some aquaphor (I've heard good things about it) I also got another blood test done just to be sure. So it would have been 5 months now. I just need to relax.
  7. @WSCDancer & @Willow, Thank you both for such quick replies and advice! I'm always so careful and don't really drink after people, I don't know why I even did it. I live in IN and the weather is definitely crazy here. It's starting to get pretty cold and dry. I've just never had this happen before. Usually as long as I had chapstick on I would be fine. No tightness or so soreness or burning, but these last 4 months my lips have really been acting up. Do you think 3 months is enough for my body to produce enough antibodies to show up on a blood test?
  8. Hi all! I am new here so bear with me. On July (4th) I took a drink after one of my best friends. I later (a couple of months) find out that she gets coldsores. At that time I had never seen her with any type of cold sore around her mouth, and I have known her almost my entire life. She didn't have any visible sores when I took the drink either. I am now noticing irritation around my lips. They are very dry if I don't have chapstick on them. They feel very tight when I smile, or yawn. I also seem to have a burning sensation. They burning isn't necessarily constant and it can be in one specific area or all over. Its kind of on the border of my lips. I drink lots of water throughout the day and try different kinds of chapstick (vermilion border?) I was tested on August 8th and October 10th, both negative. I was so relieved, but I'm still having this burning soreness on and around my lips. I haven't had any blisters or sores of any kind. I am going to the doctor again tomorrow to get another blood test and to see what he says. Could this be herpes? I have never had a cold sore so I don't know if this sensation I'm feeling is what it would feel like or not. Is it just boiling under the skin and waiting to rear it's ugly head?! I find myself constantly looking online for similar symptoms & I'm freaking myself out. Could I just be overdoing the chapsticks and lip balms? Any advice/input/ideas would be so appreciated!!! Thanks, Han
