  1. That's a great way to look at it. Thank you. I've always let stress run my life and consume me so I appreciate this advice. The psychological side of H is hardest for me. I find myself looking at other people feeling like they are different than me because they ( in my mind) don't have it. It's challenging, so any way I can turn it into a positive is extremely helpful and important, to me. The symptoms seem to be easy off now. The aching and itching is gone, just a tingle here and there or the occasional quick shooting pain. Still no sores though! A few more questions!!! ( i should probably make s new post but just trying this way first) Is L lysine really worth taking? Is there any evidence that it helps? Also, is there any links or anything on here about how this virus operates? I jave so many questions about spreading, non sexual spreading, spreading to other parts of the body, how the body builds antibodies and how reliable that is...I could go on an d in. I had cold sores as a kid, I used to get them all over my mouth but I haven't had onein years and when I did, it was just a tiny paper cut type one that went away. Is that the same thing that happens with the genital version??????
  2. Thanks guys.@ WSCDancer. Now that you say that, I did have a couple of events with my ex and his lawyer bla bla, which did occur around the same time as that bad OB. then sone other stuff with my mother who i have an DVRO against. i felt like i was in control of my stress, but maybe not!!! I just thought it was meant to get better as time progressed??? It barely affected my life at all, before, now it's controlling my life. I do suffer from anxiety maybe that's flaring up again. It's tough because the symptoms cause me to stress and feel depressed but I'm sure that makes it worse! Vicious cycle! Can hormonal changes in woman have an affect? What about nutrition exercise etc? Anyway, sorry for the life story, just thinking aloud, but I'm thankful because that could explain it.
  3. Thanks so much. I dismissed my initial OB because I thought it was an ingrown hair (couple years ago). My OBs were so mild and rare that I just assumed it was a pimple or irritation. It's only after the OB before this one ( or the one before, i cant recall) that I found out. Now it's just been relentless. I've been trying to go the natural route but its not worth it if I have to feel like this all the time. Have you been told anything about the body creating antibodies and if medication interferes with that? I've read conflicting info.
  4. @shocked80 How long did you have it before you got on meds? Did you have bad OBs before? oDo you have any side effects from the meds? Sorry for all the questions.
  5. Sorry I kind of answered everyone in one lump message! @shocked80 how long have you been taking the meds and have you had an OB since? Have they helped?
  6. Yeah. It's really confusing. I don't know if tingles always mean shedding? Or if its just our nerves and sensations. It's new to me since I used to just get a few itchy sores with none if this other stuff. I've been having like a deep ache on my inner thighs, burning, really itchy spots, tingling, basically all of it!! Lucky huh? Lol. I've been taking lysine and lauriciden. This is my first " OB" since taking lysine, it it possible the lysine is keeping the sores at bay, that's why I haven't got any yet? So they anti virals really help huh? What are you on? I had some lyrica (pregablin) samples from another issue. I just took one and it definitely helped with the nerve pain. Its nice to be able to forget about for a few hours. I'm just wondering how long this is going to go on for. I've had tingling last for a long time between OBs but not this full blown pain and itching and no sores. So confusing!! I read something on this site that said there's the shedding, where the virus becomes active again and when there's enough of the virus active on your skin, the result is blisters..so maybe these prodrome with no blisters just means the virus is there but there's not enough of it to cause the blisters...?? Idk!!!
  7. I have prodomes with no ob. My initial ob with a couple blisters was in December and I've only had a papercut ob twice with on small tear each time. So do your prodromes last a while then just fade off? I actually prefer getting a straight up OB, at least I know when it starts and when it ends. What are your prodrome symptoms?
  8. Thanks. So you've had this? Did you get an OB eventually or did it just dwindle off? Do you mean the nerves are fried from the last OB since it was a bad one, or just fried in general? Sorry for all the questions. I'm feeling desperate.
  9. Anyone have prodrome symptoms without OBs?? For weeks on end??
  10. Hi! I'm really just confused and stressed. I would be so grateful for any input. I've had this virus for sometime now but for years it's only been mild small sores every few months, itchy but not painful. Then one day I got aching legs, a sore throat, intense itching and a pretty OBs, that was the last time. Now, a month or so later, I've had intense prodrome for weeks with no OBs!! My thighs ache, I'm tingling, itching, shooting pains. For the first week I was just expecting an OB. I'm going on week 3 of this with no blisters. Everyday I wake up and it's still there. I'm becoming so confused and depressed. I can't be intimate with my husband, I'm in continuous pain. All I can think about is herpes. Can someone tell me what's going on?? Should I expect an OB? Will this ever go away? Will it only go away after an OB? WHY after years of mild symptoms that barely affected my life am I have such extreme symptoms??? I don't take anti virals. Only vitamins.
