  1. Thank you for the guidance. He thought he had been tested but when he looked back at his labs he was surprised to discover that he had not. He is going to be tested, but he is dragging his feet to do so. Think he is experiencing some denial about the whole subject and wishes the whole thing would go away. I am at peace with the idea that he may decide he just can't do this - too big of an icky for him. We shall see.
  2. I have been reading about the use of dental dams and Saran Wrap for oral sex. My boyfriend who is H- is reluctant to go down on me which is a problem for me. I am HSV1+ (lifelong) and HSV2+ (at least 13 years), take daily Valtrex. Anyone tried dental dams? Seems awkward and not nearly as much fun.
  3. I have HSV1 (since childhood) and HSV2 ( 13 years), have outbreaks 1-2 times a year and take Valtrex every day. I am a widow, but have recently begun dating a guy. I disclosed to him - hard- and he is willing to go forward to a sexual relationship with the Valtrx and condoms. Oral sex (both ways) is important to me, but he says that he read that he could get oral lesions of HSV2 from going down on me so is hesitant. I don't want every sexual encounter to be a "OMG did I get herpes from her this time" experience so we will see if he can handle it. Oral sex is important to me. What do I tell him?
