  1. I remember once reading that you should avoid brushing teeth and flossing before engaging in kissing or oral sex with a partner because it causes small cuts/scrapes/abrasions in the gums and it's easier to transfer an sti. Is there a 'turnaround' time for that? Like the small cuts heal within ____ hour(s) of brushing and flossing or anything?
  2. Yes, sorry I hadn't specified. I have HSV 1 on my mouth and genitals. I'm noticing symptoms only on my genitals and was wondering if giving (not "having"/receiving) oral sex while I experience an outbreak was still too risky. Thank you for your answers. Very appreciated.
  3. Hello, first post - sure I'll post more later on. I tried rooting through older threads/posts to find my question but didn't see it and there are a ton of posts, so apologies if this has been answered a few times over already. I'm wondering if you can be more contagious in one area than another during an outbreak? Example being I'm noticing soreness and one blister on my genitals, but my mouth feels perfectly fine/has no symptoms. If I were to have unprotected oral sex during an outbreak, is it still that I'm the very contagious even though I don't have sores or cuts or anything happening in my mouth that makes it more easily transferable? I know it's saliva based as well, but I've only recently contracted it and haven't thoroughly read up on everything. Thanks in advance for advice/answers.
