Thanks so much for your response. I really appreciate it. I've told my husband of my diagnosis and he's just fine with it, I'm the one still shell shocked. I'm just feeling like I don't know enough and that's causing my anxiety. I just need to stay off Google because I've literally read every website that has any information on herpes and I'm still left with just the same questions. I truly won't know unless I have a blister pop up and get it swabbed. My husband is going for testing tomorrow and I hope he is negative but if he is positive this will reduce my anxiety by more than half. I'm just afraid I have some other underlying issue caused by the virus or that I'm in a constant state of prodrome and won't know and potentially infect our children.

My IGG Index was 12.80 for HSV2. HSV1 IGG was less than O.91. Then my HSV1/HSV2 Comb was 2.85. If the index values mean nothing then why is there an index to begin with? So if someone has an IGG index value that's considered in the "negative"range does that mean that person had absolutely no antibodies to either HSV 1 / 2? Obviously the value is picking up something. I was just diagnosed with HSV2 I felt like my doctor just gave me the news and walked away. No in depth conversation about what to do next. Most of the information I know I've Googled. I had no clue I had HSV2. None. I'm 33. I've never had something on my genitals that looked anything like what the internet shows. After my diagnosis I did have a small rash on my cheek that my dermatologist gave me a topical for and my lips had a small rash that was barely noticeable and I now have fordyce bumps around my lips and I had tingling all over my body but the sensation was very very persistent around and on my mouth. I've actually had that small rash on my lips previously and that spot on my cheek appear a few times in the past, but when I've Googled Oral hsv2 there's nothing there...it basically doesn't exist. My gynecologist told me that I'd experience tingling in the area that I was exposed to the virus.... never had tingling in my genitals. I'm married, been with my husband for 12 years, he hasn't been tested yet but if he comes back positive then I'm almost certain that I have oral hsv2. My index value supposedly means my exposure is not recent so what if those symptoms are my bodies way of either having prodrome or an outbreak? Was my rash just anxiety because I was and have been so stressed out? Then my gynecologist told me she would only give me meds if I get an outbreak bc the meds are tough on your liver. But what about the prodrome stage? Do the meds work for that? Anyone else only have hsv2 and oral symptoms?

So my Igg came back as 12.80 for HSV 2. I was told this means I have an established infection. I'm still Googling and having anxiety about my condition because I feel like the doctor just diagnosed me and sent me on my way. I went to my gynecologist and she did swabs but they came back negative because I don't have any lesions or sores. After I was diagnosed I had tingling around my lips and a small rash appeared on my lips and cheek. I now have these tiny fordyce bumps around my mouth and I did have a thinking sensation all over my body and my left leg was feeling strange. No clue of this was just my anxiety or of I'm having maybe used from the hsv2. That's the hardest part not knowing if I'm going thru prodrome or not and I've never had an outbreak... Ever. I'm 33 and married been with the same man for 12 years. He's fine with my diagnosis but I have been so freaked out stressed that when Id have sex with him I made him use a condom BC I don't know if he has it or not. He's being checked this Wednesday but I'm still scared about other complications of herpes. My neck is stiff but only when I look to the right my ear is constantly popping and my joints are too so I have no clue if it it's the hsv2 or s sinus infection or my mattress. I'm also wondering if I have oral hsv2 bc of the symptoms I had. I know for a fact my lips were tingling soon after diagnosis and a small rash appeared and this happened to me a few times in the past but now that I've been diagnosed I'm wondering if this is related. Previously I just c figured it was the lip balm I had used. NO one seems to think oral hsv2 is really possible and my gynecologist said I'd feel tingling where the virus entered my body. So I'm thinking oral sex with my husband and that's only of he has it. She also said there wouldn't be any itching even tho I started itching soon after diagnosis but nothing popped up and she checked me down there. I'm afraid of getting meningitis and HIV even tho I tested negative and only have one partner hell I think I have symptoms of them both bc of my neck and I have a cough that's been around for a few months but it could just be allergies. Then my 5 year old had a blister on his finger and I'm thinking I gave him herpes whitlow or genital herpes during prodrome of that's even what I was going through. I'm just confused by all the lack of information.

I've been tested for STDs before but didn't know I had to request testing for herpes. I don't know if I had an anxiety attack or if I was experiencing symptoms of an outbreak. I couldn't sleep. I had cold chills and thought well what if this is that tingling sensation I read about. I've had a cough for a few months now, but so does everyone around me. I currently have vaginal itching and anal itching but I just shaved a couple weeks ago so I don't know if it's just my hair growing back (sorry for the honesty there). This news is shocking because I've never had any symptoms of what herpes actually looks like. I do have hidradenitis suppurativa (20 years) but this looks nothing like the herpes outbreaks I've seen. With the hidradenitis I get these huge painful cysts on my groin, close to my panty line and I have inclusion cysts under the skin of my vaginal lips that itch infrequently. They look like nodules. So I honestly can't tell if this is new and I'm having an outbreak or if I've always had it and just now having symptoms or I've had this for a long time and these are my symptoms. I read that symptoms of an outbreak can vary and can mimic a yeast infection... I've had vaginal itching before and anal itching before but never accompanied by lesions or blisters and any cysts I get don't look like herpes. I have no idea what to do. I have a billion questions. If my Igm index is 12.8 did I just contract the virus or has it been there for years and I never knew bc the symptoms aren't what I expect and I've never been tested before. If this is new and I'm in the middle of having an outbreak when should these blisters show up? Where will they show up? Can I have had this forever and not have any blisters or lesions at all? What's the purpose of the Igg? What is that supposed to tell me? My husband uses Abreva for cold sores he doesn't get them often but if he does have oral herpes can I get genital herpes from him if he performs oral sex on me? I'm afraid to tell him bc what if he doesn't test positive and its just me! Then he'll think that I've been unfaithful. I just want wake up from this nightmare and everything will be back to normal.
