  1. Seven months ago exactly, I was tested for hsv. Both hsv 1 + 2 came back positive. I've experienced cold sores throughout my life, so I kind of knew I was hsv 1+. However hsv 2+ was shocking. I've never had an outbreak and the first IGg index value was 2.84. Seven months later I was retested and the index value was 1.97. My doctor says that the values don't have to be consistent, but both values are in that 50/50 range. While I await the results of the Western Blot, I'd like to know if there are some others who have experienced these confusing index values. I beleive this is a new infection, so the index value should have risen over the 7 month period as my body continues to produce antibodies to combat the virus.. right? If it is not a new infection, can the index values just change from time to time? Does the body produce more antibodies when the virus becomes active? So confused! Can anyone shed some light?
