Hi lifegoeson1, curious how you're doing? Finally someone with a similar story! I had an exact situation happen to me! I now have autoimmune thyroiditis and have been dealing with swollen glands, constant sore throat and a painful blister on the back of my throat for over a year now that won't go away. When I've told doctors that I think I got herpes from oral sex, they don't believe it's possible. The fellow and I were intimate a few times and AFTER the fact he tells me he has herpes but takes acyclivir daily to keep it under control and his doctor said he cannot infect a partner if he's on the meds. I wish he would have told me before I had oral sex with him and let me make that choice, I think his doctor is wrong! :-( My throat hasn't been the same since! One doctor said it's pointless taking acyclivir because it's prob from my thyroid (which btw, never had an issue with my thyroid) and then my thyroid doctor says that its not common to have throat issues with an autoimmune thyroid. So tired of this, I think I need a new set of doctors!
