how long do herpes blood test results take?

Hello all. my boyfriend is getting tested as I have hsv1 genital and have no idea how i got it. its been almost a week and he hasn't heard anything....does that mean hes in the clear or do they always call with the numbers for negative or positive? Im really nervous about this obviously....im dreading what will happen if he doesnt have it and I do.

When I had the IgG done blood was drawn on Wednesday morning and the nurse called with the results 48 hours later.

ugh great so hes probably negative. meaning I'm right back to square 1 with wondering how I got it and being constantly scared of passing it on.

I got my blood drawn on Monday and was told it would take about a week. I'm sure it just depends on the clinic or office's hours and where they get the testing done. Give it a week. You can always call them back afterward to confirm, too.

I should have added that you may have to call back or keep an eye out for a letter in the mail. I had them mail the results after they called. I think they should at least call. Alot of people on here have had some pretty unusual experiances with doctors so anything is possible.
