May have ghsv1? Where are the symptoms??

So recently I've been having sex with my girlfriend who's got ghsv1, we used protection and we made sure she wasnt having outbreaks ( I understand it's still transmitable) over the past 4 days I've had a slight burning sensation down there but nothing else? I've been taking valtrex to hopefully stop the outbreak before it becomes a big mess. No signs of sores, just a slight burn, is it possible that this is the only symptom I'm going to have? Male btw.
