I did an other blood test, negative I got the same results than the previous blood test Hsv1 IgG < 0,2 Hsv2 IgG < 0,2 Hsv 1+2 IgM 0,3 I did it 4 months and half after having taking risks (20 weeks) Should I be confident not having H ? The other thing is that the tests i've made 3 months ago showed that i had streptococcus B (detected through urethra swab). A first doctor told me i didn't need to have a treatment for that but the dermatologist i saw 3 weeks ago gave me antibiotics and i've been swabed again this week and it is negative. I am confused because i still have the same symptoms and i was expecting a positive result for streptococcus B (assumption that the antibiotics were not efficient), that's why now i am stressed again with H

do you think i should do a second blood test ?

Hi I am still concerned and it sucks a lot. I am feeling itching since 2 weeks now after only 1 week without pain, it last again 2 weeks ago the last time. What could I do ? I saw again a new dermatologist last week who told me it was not H and there was no need to be swabbed again because my last results were negative (I had a negative blood test after 3 months, see above) and a negative swab test (but i never had any blister, i have some irritation on the top of my penis, on the urethra and around). I feel very lost, I can't deal with the pain and itching sensations. I am also very scared abouth the time needed to heal completely, it's almost like I have a continuous OB since maybe 1 month.

thank you Judith ! Yes i did a swab test as well (PCR method which is quicker than doing a culture and more sensitive) which was negative Today is indeed a better day than the last 2 months.. thanks for your help and support

Hi I just get my blood test results: Hsv1 IgG < 0,2 Hsv2 IgG < 0,2 Hsv 1+2 IgM 0,3 The conclusion is negative for all but i am wondering whether it is reliable because i did the tests 3 months after my risk exposure and 3 weeks after having antivirals for 10 days. - Can the antivirals make the antibodies dissapear ? - Is 3 months a too short delay ? Thank you for your reply It would be wonderful if someone with H near the urethra can share his experience as my guess is that it is really sensitive at this location I am so scared because many things trigger the pain and make the sore come back, underwear friction and even masturbation i stop it for a while but now i feel i won't be able to have any sexual activity without pain

Hi all, I got genital H. (don't know yet whether it's hsv 1 or 2 but it should be hsv1) It is located around my urethra and i have a sore since one month which didn't heal completely Why is it so long to recover ? The sore is not that big but it hurts, not every day, but often, the pain comes and goes away I am really confused, i can not know if it is an outbreak or not Can the skin at this part of the penis become stronger with time ? and more resistant to the virus or will it be always sensitive because of the location ? So afraid of it

hi seeker i am not sure that blood tests are available here yes sometimes it hurts when urine hits it, not always but when they are more red spots i got tea tree oil and will follow your advice i killed one bird yesterday and will hunt the second one today

i am exhausted of all this tests in France, you have first to see a doctor which tells you then to go to a laboratory for a swab and each time, it takes time.. i feel i give up, i lost some much energy, saw many doctors and i even don't know what i have it's pretty suure it's H @ Willow : i cheched everything, even thrush which was negative (it was taken from inside my urethra as well) i can not believe i will have a sensitive and painful penis for the rest of my life

Hi all I wanted to ask you something I couldn't be diagnosized for H yet, since i only had a swab from inside my urethra and not from my sore which is located around my urethra. I mean I never had any blister, it is a small sore, with some red spots. I have been told inside urethra is close to the sore so the test would have detect H.. well i am not confident since i had the H symptoms with itching and burning feelings (all my other STD including yeast and bacteries tests are negative so i was expected a positive diagnosis with this H test.) I am worried because i had this rash 4 weeks after my risk exposure only for a few days then 4 weeks after again but this time for almost 3 weeks ! (it was the worst with a lot of burning during a whole weekend) I never had sex after my risk exposure but when i masturbated recently and i care about waiting for the top of the penis to look normal again (maybe 4 days), my penis hurts, like i know it is still sensitive. I don't feel the pleasure in the same way than before because i feel some pain ! Is it normal ? Can masturbation trigger the pain ? How long do i need to recover ? Thank you for your advices

hi friends i just came back from the ophtalmologist and its a viral conjunctivitis, i am relieved ! it would have been hard to deal with different kind of H in same time thank you for your help and talk with you later regarding genital H...

thanks seeker i wish it would have been in the swimming pool with chlorine but it was only in my bath in my bathroom, without any soap ! anyway, it's done, im gonna see the ophtalmologist tomorrow

I had 10 days of valtrex (my doctor was not sure i got H and gave me this treatment in case) I finished my treatment last friday I wish it could be side effect !

Hi Dancer Your reply gives me some hope. I freak out since there is a lot of probability that i have HSV1 (i received it through oral sex) and regarding my bath, there was no soap, only hot water... I touched the sores quite a long time under the water (stupid !) and then when i put my head off water, I stupidly forgot it and rubbed my eyes with the same fingers ! The virus can survive for a few seconds under water i guess ?? I feel now some ocular troubles (small but quite constant itching and they look more red than usual). i am afraid because i read scaring thing about OH !

It sucks and i am going to see an ophthalmologist tomorrow Do you guys have any advices regarding ocular H ? Is it dangerous ? I didn't see any posts regarding it ? Hi Seeker, No it couldn't be heat rash, it was really not that hot when i got these bumps and swelling which appeared for a second time after 4 weeks at the same place around the urethera. and H is known to appear at the same place. i don't want to be paranoaic but the coincidence and facts scare me a lot !

Hi Dancer Thanks for your message Yes i saw an urologist (twice). He told me it is not H but he told me as well that he is not an expert of this infection. I didn't change the brand of my clothes detergent but just changed boxer shorts for larger ones (for commando ;-) I have been told maybe bec. summer and heat i could have some itching but honestly it was not classic itching but burning feeling. Should i try now a dermatologist ? or wait for the swelling and rep spots to dissapear ? I am exhausted to see so many doctors, i have got the feeling they don't really know about H. The last thing to do is then a blood test ?

Hi all I got this morning a negative diagnosis for H through urethral sampling via PCR method I was wondering whether this test is reliable because i still have red spots around my urethral since 3 weeks now and i really has terrible itching for 1 long week. All my other STD including yeast and bacteries tests are negative so i was expected a positive diagnosis with this H test. Hi My results for bacteries are negative, so there is only herpes left.. I feel very bad. I still have red spots around my urethra. 15 days with them now ! When will they disappear ?! When they appeared first time, it was only for 5 days. I thought the primary infection was the worst one ? How can you do to accept H ? I know it is binary, either you accept it or not but i am so fed up with thinking about it during y whole day.. I have the opportunity to make a break with my job but I don't know where to find the strength to go back there, to go back to a normal life. I need your help
