  1. I just left from speaking with quest about their upcoming clinical trial for Gen-003 and its exciting to be apart of such an amazing study. They are looking for individuals to join, if you're interested please contact Laura using the information below.

    Dear Quest HSV-2 List,

We are very excited to share with you the latest update from the Genocea HSV vaccine study.

The announcement, released last week, confirmed that 6 months after their last dose of vaccine, study patients who received the optimal dose sustained a viral shedding rate reduction of 58%. The complete press release is available here.

As we begin to screen folks for the next program, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to those of you whose efforts and participation have made all of this possible.

If you are interested in participating in the GEN-003-003 trial, or have any referrals you’d like to make for this next phase, please contact Laura Holland at 415-353-0800 / laura@questclinical.com

    Best,

    Dr. Jay

  2. I recently emailed Quest to join a clinical study for HSV2. Ive a attached a porrion of the email for everyone to read.

below is the text of the message that was sent out last week to our HSV-2

email list, communicating the preliminary results from the GEN-003-002

    study.

    Best,

    Laura

    "Dear Quest HSV email list,

We wanted to take a moment to share with you the initial results from the

GEN-003-002 trial, which were released on Wednesday.

Genocea was very excited to announce a >50% reduction in viral shedding

after the 3rd and last dose of vaccine at the optimal dose level. Five out

of six 6 dosing groups showed significant reduction in viral shedding. All

dose groups also showed significant reduction on clinical outbreaks.

Reduction in viral shedding has the potential to reduce both physical

discomfort to those living with genital herpes, and the risk of transmission

    to HSV-negative partners.

These results could not have been achieved without the hard work and

dedication of our study subjects, to whom we are profoundly grateful.

While the study is still in progress and more data forthcoming, this is a

    very exciting starting point.

We look forward to sharing more information with you as it becomes

    available.

  3. Its been a while since I've been on here. My symptoms finally went away and I was feeling normal up until last week. I was a bit irritated when I noticed a small bump. It was a little tender to the touch and looked like an ingrown hair but it was in an awckward place. Its not like the text book blister. I'm just curious if this would be considered a second on if there is only one bump? I've been hav2 positive for 8months and I'm some what surprised that I haven had more Ob's since they say the first year is the worst. Im not complaining about it tho..I'm not currently on any antivirals.

  4. I used the FC2 condom last night and my partner loved it. Im very sensative down below so I was a little nervous but it worked fine. It was easy to put in. I was nervous it was going to go inside, but never did and things got pretty intense. I was a little irritated afterwards but I rinsed myself with water and put some coconut oil on it and was fine. I think I was irritated due not having intercourse for a while. I didn't have any papercut ob like experienced with other non latex condoms

  5. I'm a little over five months into my ghsv2 diagnosis and I finally feel 100% normal. I was so stressed and had a hard time in the beginning I never thought I would be here. I am on daily valtrex 500mg ,but I'm thinking about stopping since I'm no longer in a relationship and don't plan on being in one for a while. I'm a little nervous on how my body will react without the meds. But... I'll never know unless I try. I've had sex and I did notice a small papercut tear but I'm not sure if it's from h or me being dry towards the end. I just want everyone that is having a hard time with your new diagnosis know things will be OK. Just be patient and not let h over come your life. Thank you to @wcsdancer2010 @fitgirl @whitedaises @sadpanda for being supportive and listening to me vent when I would make new discussions on my issues.

  6. @whitedaises I had a hard time with the meds at first. I took acyclovir for a little while but it made me feel sick. I didn'take it for a long period of time. I'm going to email my doctor and see what she says. It sucks because my daughter noticed it so that just let me know it must be extremely noticeable.
