I was diagnosed with HSV2 in May of 2014. My girlfriend (at the time) and I had been together since December of 2013 and were regularly having unprotected sex. I found a blister on the shaft of my penis which over the next few days developed into a pretty severe outbreak. I've never had any symptoms in the past. When I went to the doctor, he swabbed the lesions on my penis which is how he determined I had HSV2. When he called me with my diagnosis a few days later, he commented that this was my primary outbreak and that I had contracted the virus from my girlfriend. After the call, I went to have a blood test as suggested by my doctor. My blood test came back negative. When I told my girlfriend my diagnosis, she broke up with me immediately. The next day, she went to get tested but has REFUSED to show me a hard copy of her results. A few weeks later she told me via text that her doctor said she doesn't have HSV2.
I did some detective work and spoke to anyone I had unprotected sex with over the past few years and none of the women have HSV2. Another component to the story is that the week prior to my outbreak, my girlfriend had flu-like symptoms and complained of pain in her groin and was tossing and turning in bed at night. I think it's fairly obvious that my ex girlfriend gave me HSV2 but she won't admit it. What are the chances I had the virus from before I dated the girl I suspect who infected me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm miserable and would love to get this crap out of my body. :(
