  1. If you both have hsv 1 on your genitals, then you have nothing to worry about. Just don't have sex if you're having an outbreak. That's more for comfort reasons than anything else. Once you have it, you can't get it again. As for having sex with new partners, it would be responsible of you to share this information with them prior to having sex. Educate them that transmission rates are low (about 1% if you're using a condom and on antiviral medication) and live life. It's a canker sore skin virus that 80% of people have, usually in their mouths. We have it on our genitals and it can suck to have an outbreak, but 20% of people with HSV-1 never OB after their first. Don't sweat it. Find a person that either has the same thing or is okay with being intimate with you despite the issue.
