  1. Thank you for sharing. Some parts of this story sound very familiar to a situation I'm in, and I haven't disclosed to the guy yet, and we haven't been intimate, but this boosts my courage.
  2. I was diagnosed with genital herpes 10 days ago due to a very painful primary episode (still dealing with this). Due to the holidays the lab results have taken longer to get back so I don't know if it is HSV1 or 2 (I suspect 2 because the partner who transmitted it to me did not ever perform oral sex on me - although I did give him oral sex). Due to testing a year ago, I know who transmitted it to me. I have a lot of questions and have been doing a lot of research. One question I've not yet gotten a definitive answer on is whether it can be transmitted through passionate (oral) kissing during an active GENITAL episode. I don't have any reason to believe it is oral herpes. I am asking because I've started dating someone new, and we have a New Year's Eve date, and it could be our first kiss (but as I said, I'm in-episode right now). I would hate to transmit it to him, and we are too new for me to feel comfortable disclosing my status yet. Bottom line - can I make out with my new guy on NYE if the moment seems right, or should I refrain?
