Could this be genital herpes?

Hello all. About 2 months ago I tested positive for HSV1. I have never shown any symptoms of herpes so I assumed I just have asymptomatic oral herpes. However, today I noticed this bump above my penis hiding in my public hair. Could this be the start of a genital herpes out break? It’s a red bump with a crusty white center. (Side note: I tested negative for everything else on the full panel)

Many folks have oral HSV-1, so you are not alone! What prompted you to get tested, and was the test a blood test?

In terms of the bump you are wondering about, it could be HSV or an infected ingrown hair. Is there a black dot or line inside the white head? Also, is it itchy, tingling, or oozing?
