Lysine and constipation

Hey everyone, I'm new here and a week into my first outbreak. I feel pretty good and think things are pretty much cleared up, but I've been experiencing constipation since yesterday. I think it's due to the amount of lysine I've been taking (4-6 grams a day for the past 6 days) and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm new to herpes and have never had constipation before so this past week has been FULL of educational experiences. I would love to have the lysine issue figured out in case I get another outbreak. Thanks for any information you may have!

I take Valtrex and Lysine.. I believe that it sucks up all your water.
