iGG results - confused! Can anyone provide help?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Recently had an igg test, doctor suggested this after 7-8 years of back and forth for reoccurring infection in thumb and various small pimples on inner thigh. Doctor always assumed diabetes or general skin condition.

IGG result came in at index 14 positive for hsv2. Pretty shocked however after doing a lot of research my symptoms were classic of herpes, I just never realised and my doctor was obviously not well informed.

Can anyone tell me what index 14 indicates? My doctor was pretty useless. I spoke with a private herpes specialist through zavamed and he informed me the high index indicates strong antibody presence.

Can anyone confirm this? Or any similar stories?

Thanks
