Still trying to figure out if this is what the problem has been

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I just need some help or insight with the testing. About a year and five months ago I had unprotected sex with a new person. 5 days after I had some itching and severe burning. I tried an at home yeast treatment and had no success so I went to an urgent care and they told me I had bacterial vaginosis. I took a week of flagyl and two diflucan without much resolve. I then went back to urgent care where they said everything seemed normal. No signs of any other infection. I was also tested for all other stds, herpes included, so my first blood test was two weeks after exposure and came back as this:

hsv 1 igg- 38 hsv 2 igg- negative

hsv 1/2igm combo positive 1.4

ive since this time has 5 more blood tests as well as a western blot. I’ve also been swabbed while having irritation, as well as small paper cut type things. All the swabs have been negative. Here are the blood test

second test- 1 month post exposure

hsv 1 igg- 31 hsv 2 igg- negative

hsv 1 & 2 igm ab direct -negative

third test- 2 months post exposure

hsv 1 igg- 32 hsv 2 igg- negative

hsv 1/2combo igm- 1.2

4th test-  4 months post exposure

hsv 1 igg- 39 hsv 2 igg- negative

hsv 1/2 igm ab direct- negative

5th test- 5 months post exposure

hsv 1igg- 31 hsv 2igg- negative

hsv 1/2 ab direct igm- negative

western blot- 7 months post exposure

positive hsv 1   Negative hsv 2

last blood test was one year and 4 months post exposure

hsv 1 igg- 33.2 hsv 2 igg- negative

hsv 1/2 combo igm 1.1 but when they ran 1/2 ab direct negative

i cannot recall having  cold sores as a child however my doctor seems to think since my hsv 1 was so high two weeks post exposure that this was an old infection  I’ve also never had a typical blister  just irritation, redness and the small paper cut type things

Can anybody offer some piece of mind? I’ve been making myself crazy  I’ve tried things for yeast, uti, and some creams

nothing seems to help but the irritation is pretty constant and also occurs after having sex  usually the next day!

i also am wondering why the igm is always positive on the combo but when they run them separate as the titer they are negative
