  1. I had finally got my acne under control related to some bacteria issues I was having in my gut, when I got diagnosed with HSV2 and had my first outbreak my skin freaked out again, acne all over and body acne reappeared again. Trying to continue cutting out dairy and gluten as I know it affects me greatly. Also making sure to wash my face frequently- I use “the ordinary” products- alternate their salicylic acid, niacimide, and squalane products with hylauranic acid and Marula oil every other day. Each product is only $5-7 and last about 3-4 months. I use cetaphil for face wash. My skin is also very very dry in the winter so I’ve been using jojoba oil on my face at night. If your skin is dry it tries to over produce oil to make up for the dryness which in turn can cause acne.

So everything I read says skin to skin and I just want to make sure cause I baby sat my niece and I literally just put a roll of tp in bathroom like a few hours before she came . Anyways ig my roommate either had   Diarrhea  Or is an ass and is hoarding my tp . Anyways I saw that she took a wash cloth out of the tub and wiped poop . It was a used wash cloth and was in there cause of that and my roommate doesn’t use used wash cloths . Anyways I think I used it like 18 hours before she did and rinsed it but it doesn’t stay in rags right ? God I’m scared I have my niece herpes .

All research says herpes virus dies within seconds of being on a non-skin surface. You will not give your niece herpes through a wash cloth or any non-skin contact.

  3. My oral Hsv2 does not look like the google pictures. I don’t get sores outside of my mouth, only cankor sores on my cheeks and blisters and patches on the far back of my throat, one cankor sore on the roof of my mouth, and a small cankor sore on my tongue at times. My boyfriend has a strong immune system and has never gotten outbreaks. My boyfriend does has dry lips but he just has super sensitive skin in general. It could be but it doesn’t necessarily sound like it. They can’t do skin tests without an active blister.

  4. I have a spot on my shin that flared up during my initial outbreak, three months later it’s almost healed up. Feeling for you on having it on your face. So sorry you’re dealing with that. Now that I know I have it, I’m trying to be more careful about spreading it some where else. Lots of hand washing with soap and water.

  5. It’s unlikely, virus typically dies off quickly when not on human skin. Unless it was directly on your lips and then directly onto his, he should be fine. Same reason you can’t acquire herpes from toilet seats.. requires skin to skin contact

Hey everyone. I was diagnosed with ghsv2 this past spring, have had ohsv1 since childhood. I recently developed tiny blisters on my finger which the infecious disease doc was unable to rule out herpes Whitlow. I tried to get it swabbed before it healed but everywhere required an appointment first, by the time I got in the wound had healed. I'm very concerned bc I have children and don't want to pass it on to them.

Has anyone else had an experience with herpes Whitlow or spreading to other parts of the body?

During my intital outbreak I had an outbreak on my shin, I had a cut from shaving that was itchy and must have touched a sore before I knew I had hsv2 and spread it to my shin on my right leg.

That good . I have no igg only igm so I think that proves my bf gave it to me plus he’s never had symptoms tell this day still ...lucky for him not me . I felt the diffesnce in my body two days after our first time . Hey is it weird that he still has t we t I. To get herpes test . I been asking him to get it for two months now just to make sure I didn’t get a false positive and got done else . Cause at first I thought I shaved hemroids by accident

I asked my boyfriend to get tested so he could make an informed decision about how to move forward, mostly with how careful to be during sex in the future. He was hesitant because he wanted to just assume that he had it and gave it to me, he finally went to the Dr. and they ordered labs but then he waited 30 days to go back to have the labs done. He finally had them done and tested positive for HSV2 and it brought a sense of relief for myself. He feels fine with the results either way but he’s glad that he knows his status now. He went to a university clinic so the testing was very inexpensive.

I had my first horrendous hsv2 outbreak in February this year that took nearly two months to heal this one blister to then go on to having 9 outbreaks in thr space of 5 months, went on supressive therapy of two a day of acyclovir and didn't have an outbreak for a couple of months and had another outbreak 10 days ago which is still happening and multiplying all over. When one starts to try and heal another one or more develop. My doctor prescribed me to have 3 a day tablets which I have started today and more are developing.

I am ready to burst in to tears and feel like screaming

Anyone else gone through the same?

This is ruining my life and if I am like this forever there is 0 chance for me to find love or to even live with this keep happening. I am going out my mind 😢

My first outbreak happened the week of 9/11 of this year, I’m about 9 weeks in and I’ve had multiple oubtreaks already. I had been on acyclovir 200 mg 4x/ 10 days and then 200 mg of acyclovir 5x/day for 7 days when I was on my 3rd or 4th outbreak. I am now on my 5th or 6th outbreak (previous sores healed and then new ones formed) and finally saw an infectious disease doc that put me on 400 mg of acyclovir 5x/day for 30 days and gave me two refills as well. Hopefully this allows my body to get a hold of the virus. I’ve heard people say that some meds work better for different people so you could attempt a different medication- or you could ask your doc to adjust the dose. Have you made any other lifestyle changes? Diet/exercise/stress reduction etc? Are you otherwise healthy?

Has anyone experienced lasting nerve pain after initial outbreak?  I’m going on week 5 of nerve pain and it’s the most annoying thing I’ve ever experienced!

I’ve had an on and off again outbreak for 10 weeks, debatable whether it’s the same outbreak or multiple, I’ve experienced nerve pain all over throughout. I am also hoping that it goes away at some point. Very uncomfortable and it gives me anxiety.

    Hi Elle27,

Thanks for your reply. The thing I'm most worried about is that if we do become intimate and he catches HSV1 from me, that because of his weaker immune system it will affect him really badly.

I guess what I'm asking is if it is too dangerous for him to be with me because of my GHSV1. I know herpes isn't usually more than an annoying rash but I just worry I will make him really unwell if he catches it.

There really isn’t any way to know how it would effect him, all you can do is tell him the facts and he has to be aware of th risk that it poses. His outbreaks could be bad if he contracted it, but you won’t know for sure. Be honest, and take precautions if you decide to move forward.

No. I haven’t had an OB  since September 20. I guess just to make sure the virus is dormant. At this point I honestly don’t know what to think of my test was negative. I’ll also be doing western blot at the end of the month

The PCR test is going to come back negative if you aren’t having an active outbreak.. meaning you don’t have any lesions or blisters. I don’t know why they would redo it if you don’t have any sores present. My thought is that it would make more sense to redo the IGG test.

  12. I have a weakened immune system from gut issues. Even people with strong immune systems are susceptible to acquiring hsv1 or 2. You can’t really gauge the risk from person to person. If you are intimate with a HSV negative person they are always at risk no matter what. It’s definitey something you should disclose before hand and your significant other should know the risks involved and make a decision for themselves. What specific answers are you looking for? Like rate of infection or percentage of risk?

  13. The symptoms started on my genitals and then showed up on my throat a few days later. I had blisters and lesions, felt papercut like sores, couldn’t pee because it was so inflamed. My pelvis felt puffy and tingly, and I had some bleeding.

  14. I tested negative for hsv1 and positive for hsv2 I have a outbreak in my mouth/throat/genitals/ and an area on my leg.. I think I got infected all three places at the same time. I think I have a very weakened immune system as well. If you have the virus and have built up antibodies is unlikely to get it in another area but if the virus was new you could get infected multiple areas.

  15. Everyone reacts differently, could also just be your body getting a grip on the virus. Worst case scenario you stop meds for a bit to see how your body handles it, and maybe you have an outbreak.. could be your body adjusting to meds. Also trial and error. I want to see it’s my outbreaks are frequent enough to warrant me feeling like I should be on suppressive therapy. I just don’t care for prescription meds in general so if it’s not necessary I prefer not to be on it. If I continue to have frequent outbreaks and it interferes with quality of life I’d consider going back on it. I have hsv2 orally and genitally.
