  1. It can be so upsetting to hear people talk this way. I bet you that some of the people at that dinner have never even been tested. If I wouldn't have asked for the blood test, I wouldn't even know I have it! If it comes up again maybe you should mention that its not included in the standard STD screenings and someone could very well have it and not even know it!

I wish everyone could learn kindness and compassion and understanding. HSV can happen to anyone!

  2. Hi all!

Need some advice -I saw an old flame over Christmas and he expressed really wanting to try again. I've known him for 15 years and have confidence in him. Should I go ahead and tell him or should I wait? I want to make sure he understands that even though I've tested positive, I've never had any issues with having HSV2. And I'm ready with all the facts I've learned about it.

Is it too soon to tell him?? I would love to date him but I'm nervous!

  3. I wanted to wish everyone in my community a very Merry Christmas! Even though we have all had difficult days either physically or emotionally lets remember that this is a time for celebration and love with our family and friends! We are all blessed to be alive and well and lets never forget that! Have a great week!

  4. Hi all,

Since being diagnosed a few months ago (was never tested before) I have been learning a lot about prodome symptoms. I have to say that for probably 10 years or more I have experienced, off and on, some of the symptoms mentioned but never thought much of it. At every yearly exam I was cleared of everything (except H of course since I wasn't tested). I've had the occasional vaginal discharge (my doctor said that was normal and never gave me meds for it), the occasional tingling/ sharp pain in my bikini area, swollen nodes down there and I believe I even recall having one bump that cleared up within 3/4 days and was a little irritating and sore.

To me, I am thinking now that I've actually had H2 a long time but never actually had a full on outbreak or maybe I was having them and they were just really mild.

Is this possible? What do you think?

-Thanks in advance for the advice & insight!

hi and thanks for the reply! Yes I have read the handouts and I know that many many many people have it and don't even know! It sucks to have something and not even know it. I am very thankful that I know now and that I can protect any future partners. I think I'm concerned with daily life with having herpes. Are there things I need to do differently (aside from sex)? I'm not really concerned with having sex right now. I just want to be able to manage it better -mentally. Does that make sense? :-)

  6. I would love an H buddy! Someone to talk to when I'm confused about this or having a moment. I'm female / 30yrs old / Atlanta, Ga. Gender doesn't matter but would like someone close to my age who has been dealing with this longer than I have (about 4 months for me). I'm open to meeting up for a meal, texting or phone calls. I look forward to hearing from someone & I hope I can be a supportive new friend!

  7. Hi all. Just signed up today after reading the posts for a few months. I was diagnosed with HSV2 a few months ago and it was sad for me. I've never had any symptoms (that i can recall) and I asked for the test after finding out its not included. So, I have never been tested for H before and have no clue when I got it (I'm 30 yrs old). It's kind of strange to know I have something but can't actually see anything. It's an odd feeling. I accept it & I've realized that life is so much more than herpes. The guy I have been sexually involved with (mostly unprotected) for the last 6 months or so just got his test results back and he doesn't have it. I'm so glad for him but it makes me even more confused about testing positive. Has anyone had the same experience that I have? Tested positive but no noticeable symptoms? Any advice?

I'm really happy to have found this site for support & to hopefully give support too!
