  1. I have HSV2 and my boyfriend does not. We don't use protection anymore because we are trying to get pregnant. He has not tested positive for HSV2 as of yet & maybe he never will. When you love someone unconditionally then it doesn't matter.
  2. Beautiful article! @Sil88 I believe that the meningitis is more likely to occur (only about 10% get it) when someone first gets genital herpes.
  3. @forgivenessandpeace Yes when I found out I became very stressed, scared and sad but I worked through it. I know of Bill Halford -I actually emailed with him and he gave me great insight. Thank you for the well wishes I am excited but still a little scared -and I know that's just a normal thing. :)
  4. @forgivenessandpeace and redroses We have been together a year and a half. We stopped using condoms because we want to have a child. I have never had an actual OB (I tested positive through a random STD test) I was very shocked! I have no clue when I got it or how long I've had it. Several months ago I did feel what I thought might be prodome so I took an extra dose of Lysine and the symptoms went away. I take 1000mg of Lysine every few days now. You have to give your body time to get used to having HSV2. Over time you should have less OB's. If i never would have asked for the Blood test to test for Herpes I would not know that I have it. I go back to the doctor in a few weeks for my yearly exam and I will be asking him a lot of questions about us trying to get pregnant. My boyfriend is insanely amazing. He's younger than I am (whooo hooo!) lol and is so excited about being pregnant. I'm excited also, I'm just scared about actually being pregnant but I know I will be fine. I do remember when I was tested last year, the nurse that took my blood said that 4 out of 5 women they test come back positive for HSV2. It's incredibly common. Hugs!
  5. I have HSV2 also and my boyfriend does not. We don't use condoms anymore and so far he doesnt have it. We have a very wonderful sex life. Let your body adjust and build up antibodies and you will have a great sex life! Don't stress out about it.
  6. How do you use Bactine for HSV2 outbreak? I want to make sure I know what to try right away if I ever have an OB.

  8. Lets say that HSV2 orally was common (which we know it's not) would you really give up oral sex with the one you love?? I dont think I would. Anyone?
  9. My boyfriend and me have oral sex (I have HSV2 and and he does not) and we have never had any issues. Think about it: if it were really an issue then so many people would have HSV2 on the mouth. Idk but I don't think its an issue.
  10. Ok thanks for the advice I will get the cream!
  11. My boyfriend and me have lots of foreplay / oral and have never had any issues. I have HSV2 and he does not. We are always sure to shower really well right after sex -every single time.
  12. I've never done laser hair removal but I want to try it out! I will see if I can muster up the courage lol
  13. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows if having laser hair removal can trigger an OB? I have HSV2 and am considering having it done. Thanks for any insight on this!
  14. @Anonemess this post hurt my heart to read. No one is perfect. We ALL have flaws. You might think there is nothing special about you but guess what....you're wrong. Just because you have Herpes does NOT mean you are more flawed than someone who doesn't have Herpes. A man will choose you because you will be perfect for HIM. He won't care that you have Herpes. My boyfriend is an amazing person. He tells me all the time there is no one that he would rather be with. He loves me for the person I am. Believe me when I tell you that he could have any woman that he wants. He is brilliant, successful and very handsome. I notice the women looking at him when we go out and in the past it would make me depressed because I thought he would be better off with someone who didn't have this one flaw but then I realized that every single day -he comes home to me. I'm his best friend, the one he trusts, the one he loves and no other woman could possible appreciate and love him the way I do. My point is: when it's the right ONE he will not care about Herpes. Please use this forum to the fullest capacity - everyone here is at a different point in their journey with Herpes and we all need the support. Just a thought but the one thing I believe a man would have a harder time accepting is a woman with low or no self confidence. Be confident in the person you are. You are incredibly brave to even have joined this forum. Start there and little by little you won't even recognize yourself and it will be amazing. You will be stronger, happier, more confident and Herpes won't rule over your life. It's a process. It will take time. I'm here if you ever need guidance. Take care.
  15. Lol @seeker he's working on it but wants it to be a surprise!
  16. Hi @babysteps -I know it's hard but you have to learn and teach yourself how to not stress out too much. It will only cause more outbreaks. Obviously your boyfriend knows the risks since he wants to stop using condoms. Has he been tested for everything? just make sure you do that first. It took me a few months to agree to stop using condoms because I was afraid but then I realized how much he loves me and how much I love him. In the end for me, it's worth it. I want a family with him and this is the only way to do it. My boyfriend has not contracted the virus so far and I hope he never does. I just pray for our health and stop thinking about it. I hope you can come to terms with this! Feel free to ask anything you want to know :) we are here to help one another!
  17. Hi, my boyfriend and me have oral sex (I have HSV2 and he does not have herpes) HSV2 does not like the mouth. Less than about 1% of oral herpes is HSV2. We have had no issues with oral at all. Pay attention to your body and don't do it if you have any signs of an OB. Hope this helps!
  18. Hi all, Today I realized that I almost never think about my HSV2 anymore. It could be that since being diagnosed through a random blood test over a year ago -I still haven't had an actual outbreak (that I know of) Or it could be because my boyfriend is incredibly in love with me and has no concerns about it anymore. We stopped using condoms last month because we want to have a baby. I'm super excited and not worried at all. I feel happy & healthy and my boyfriend is so happy. I think that over time you think less & less about having this virus. I also think that once you accept it and move on with your life in a healthier way, your body relaxes & you don't stress out about it much. Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know that the mental anguish we all go through comes to an end and your new beautiful life begins.
  19. I want to know also where to order it from incase I ever need it!
  20. Hi. Have you tried taking L-Lysine? I take 1000mg once a day and it works for me. I'm sorry you haven't had much relief. I hope you feel better soon!
  21. @NeverDanced ....you don't have to break up with her, especially since it sounds like you really like her! I have HSV2 & my boyfriend does not. We are careful and he is fine. I too am like you, I've never had an outbreak. Don't break up with her!
