severity or frequency? ive never taken meds. had intitial OB in april lasted 5 days one sore. 3 months later second OB 5 days one sore. month later third OB 5 days one sore. each time the sore has gotten smaller. this month no sore so far! woohoo. i tried really hard to boost my immune system. thank you oil or oregano drops!! id honestly rather not take meds an let my body create its own defenses then if OBs get bad down the road i have something to take. what are you OBs like? how frequent?

my bottle says for herpes. plus some other things. i bought it at a health store. for the first few months i was only taking it here or there. then i tried every night. it doesnt seem to help me tho. i still get OBs every month or 2

im pretty sure mine layed for dormant for a long time too. then OB in april. then in july then in august. mine take 5 days to clear up with no meds. but still..when youre trying to be safe for your partner youre outta commission for like 2 weeks a month. so im in your same boat. i know others say get creative an yes thats fun. i understand what youre going through. im really trying to boost my immune system right now to see if i can stop these monthly OBs. just try to keep positive thoughts. an let your man know how your feeling he will prob say something to comfort you that you need to hear

im rather against meds. im not even on birth control nor do i take advil etc. BUT im having an OB almost every month. so im considering going on suppressive therapy. id just like to know your success stories (it kept your OB to minimal times a year) or horror stories ( you had bad side effects to the meds and/or once you stopped, your OBs went crazy or something along those lines) thanks

i took no drugs an mine lasted 5 days. no pain at all urinating tho. my second an third OB have also only lasted 5 days an no drugs for those either

im curious as time goes on can you tell? i feel like i have my usual symptoms but no sore. so curious if maybe im just shedding. (unless its way up inside..ive had one inside but i could still see it)

my OB never scab either. or have pus or hurt. so sounds like youre similar to me. i had a swab done an it came back +HSV2.

honestly.. i kinda just accepted it from day one. i admit i do struggle sometimes. as time goes by it gets a lot easier especially when youre not having an OB. im pretty okay with having H the only time i get upset is when i think about disclosing. but i even know thats not the end of the world. all id say to you is that change your negative thoughts the second they pop into your head. an remember that 80% of people have this. its an annoying skin condition

i havent had it for that long ( well truth be told im not sure exactly when i got it. coulda been april or ive had it for awhile an was asymptomatic) my OB have been in 2 spots. first an third OB were in the exact same spot i only get one sore. an each OB the sore has been smaller an smaller. from the day i notice it till its completly gone is 5 days. i had an OB in april. one in july an one in august. i shave. although it could have been timing or the shaving... im not sure if it helped to cause my last OB

Hello! ive only had one sore each OB. an havent spread it. i shower twice daily an use the same towel. an have still never spread it. if you do touch the sore wash your hands with soap right away. i have a very physical job an im not planning on stopping because of H. i also use tampons. my period actually seems to be my trigger lately. i dont take meds. i take 1000mg lysine daily. if im having an OB i increase it to 3000mg an after each shower i put tea tree oil on a qtip an rub it in on my sore. i also take epsom salt bath at night before bed. it definetly relieves the itching!!! an calms me down!

i take 1000mg lysine daily. an increase it while having an OB i take vit c an zinc daily too. my body is still getting used to H tho so even tho i take everything im still an OB around my period. boo

could you share how you most often bring the topic up? i know there are tons of stories but youve done it obviously enough to know. thanks (i have to do my first serious disclosing soon and am confident an nervous

i take lysine every night. but i still get OBs i put tea tree oil a qtip then on the sore after every shower an have the epsom salt baths. my OBs are pretty mild (or at least i think so) so thats about all i do. well plus get lots of sleep an watch my diet

...mine dont scab,ever! so thats why im asking. i only ever get one sore (an awesomely they get smaller an smaller every OB) by day 5 they have completly dissappeared but NEVER scab. my OBs are very mild. an the most recent one had no warning signs at all. All i take is L-lysine an put tea tree oil on the sore an have an epsom salt bath at night right before bed. i dont want to take a prescription ever either. i dont even take advil or birth control or anything. i dont like pharmaceuticals BUT my issue is i like this guy an want to be able to have sex more freely but if i cant have sex 12 days outta month thats kinda lame. i would want to use condoms every time so if the sore has dissapeared is there still a high high high chance or giving it to him?

my sores are very small an never form a crust. i know im contagious from the first on set of symptoms but when does the contagiousness end exactly. right now im breaking out kinda often (pretty much whenever im about to get my period..which i know can be a trigger) but i dont want to go on suppressive therapy. i read you should wait till a week after sores heal. my sores heal after approx 5 days so does that mean im out of commission 12 days a month? if im getting an OB every month that kinda sucks...

ive known about mine for 3 months but im guessing ive had it for quite a bit longer. i wax an shave all the time but not during an outbreak ( i dont think its ever caused one either) for the sun....well i work outside plus tan in a bikini an i feel like it 'might of triggered' an OB. but maybe not. could it of been the sun or sweating? im not sure. so id maybe limit my sun exposure. my mom has H1 on her lips an the sun VERY MUCH triggers OBs in her. so could be my genetics? sorry if that doesnt help you. when i found out i would take Lysine whenever i felt slightly off maybe one a week or once every 2 weeks but after 3 months i got another OB so now im going to take one every day to see if that prevents them better. i have a super strong defense system i think cuz my OBs are only ever one blister an clear up within 4 days just from taking 3 lysine an putting tea tree oil on the blister after i shower ( i shower twice a day) hope this gives you a little more feedback

my first OB was super mild as well! only one sore that cleared up quickly on its own an didnt even scab...its been my only one so far an my blood tested positive so im not sure how long ive had H2... i was curious bout me having a "mild" case as well! glad to read someone feels the same way

thanks! the OB cleared up 8 days ago an everything seemed fine besides the itchiness... an i dont have a bath ..shower only. im taking l-lysine an a probiotic an going comando when possible an no tight clothes. plus putting tea tree oil down there but its the worst itchy spot is rather red an maybe even swollen. at the time they took the swab for H they also tested me for vaginitis an uti an everything so is being itchy still normal or maybe now its yeast?

found out on friday. ive come to terms with it already. not sure who gave it to me or how long ive had it. positive blood so at least for a little while. i had no symtoms (or i mistaked them for something else) had my first OB a couple weeks ago. one sore that went away on its own after a couple days. does anyone else have a similar situation.. im hoping i might rarely have OBs? im also wondering a very natural product to stop the itch? an out of curiosity whats the average time between OBs?
