  1. This differently does help. I'm just worried about how do I go in the meantime? My bladder issue has resolved, thankfully, and out of everything I had the last two bits of the primary ob is the nerve pain on my left Sciatic nerve, it was traveling down the leg but no more, and the constipation.

As for alcohol, haven't had any since two weeks before my primary ob. I'm 27, in a month I'll be 28. As for health issues I've had my gallbladder and appendix removed already. And six years ago I was diagnosed as having Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I went through the treatment and many of the issues the infection created went away, like the GERD and acid reflux. However, my father swears that there is still a spirochaete still alive. Oddly enough, damn tick borne illnesses act like viruses and when in remission hide in the base of the spine or the intestines.

I just want to know 1. Will this go away? 2. How do I cope and poop in the meantime? 3. I was reading about iv acyclovir. And the issues I am having going to the bathroom are so severe that I'm willing to go sit in a hospital for 5 to 7 days to get this treatment.

My current doctor seems to be a tad slow reacting to this. I wish my infectious disease doctor wasn't 340 miles away or I'd see him. I did state to my pcp that I want to change treatment, I'm currently on valacyclovir 1 gram daily. I have one day left before I'm taken down to 500 mg daily.

My primary ob has been going on 33 long days and I'm tried. When will this end?

  2. From your story and the words used you sound like you're in my age range so I'll talk to you straight up like I would a close friend.

I had not one but two doctors tell me that doesn't look nor act like herpes in regards to the bump on the inside of my labia majora. Well I'm here, on this website site so that means that THEY WERE DEAD FUCKING WRONG. My boyfriend, who was my ex for a few months, slept with someone else who when she received her herpes test told her that having chickenpox as a child would throw off the test. That's bullshit, here's why... mono, chickenpox, hsv1 and 2 are all part of the same wonderful little family of viruses, however, they all have different dna that's what makes them different viruses. With that a test can detect the right virus. Herpes isn't on the basic STD radar because it won't kill you, leave you infertile or anything else. It's a nerve disease that is a giant pain in the ass with a huge stigma.

So the chick my man slept with is out there right now unknowingly giving the virus to people because her doctor is an asshole.

    Great isn't it?

Your doctor might not want to test you because at this point what's the use outside of your own knowing? Your outbreaks aren't that bad and well if herpes isn't apart of a routine STD test to begin with then this virus doesn't have their attention.

However, push for a blood test. If not the best this to do is once you have a bump go to Planned Parenthood. Their great! I sent my boyfriend there and they are the only doctors that knew it was herpes. However, if the bump is there a few days before you can get an appointment the virus might not be there by the time they culture it.

Honestly, it sounds like you have a minor case of herpes. And the bump on your finger could just be a wart (gotta love those viruses). Either way don't fret. If it is herpes you've had it for years now and you are fine. You're alive and healthy. And for the bump on the finger sounds like your run of the mill wart... Once again don't worry get it frozen off. Just be happy you didn't have a wart on your knee as big as a nipple when you were a kid....

  3. Hello everyone.

Just wanted to know if this was typical... I'm in the middle of my primary and I'm feeling great outside of the pain in my sciatic nerve and insane constipation. I have been on Valtrex ranging from 4 grams daily to 1 gram daily for 3 weeks. I'm now in the middle of my 4th week of this horrible ob. I have also been given Gabapetin for the nerve pain at 300mg twice daily. Should I switch meds? Maybe Valtrex isn't helping... is this typical for a primary? Should I be concerned? Does herpes cause nerve damage?

  4. I've thought I was cool with having hsv-2, however, after 3 weeks it hit me like a ton of bricks last night... I blame no one for this though. I just wonder why now? I have anxiety disorder and honestly the man I'm with I was with for over two years before we broke up for three months due to the thoughts and actions I would have due to the anxiety. We get back together and wham hsv2 primary obs at the same time. I find the irony in this because I lost him due to stress and not handling it well. With h stress is a key factor so now I must gain control of it. Maybe I was meant to get h as a way for me to truly control my stress. I see it as where a door closes, a window opens... you just have to keep your eyes open for it....

@workingonit I get the sense that your fairly young.... and honestly a diagnosis of this at your age will hit very hard. Chin up. You are not the only one with hsv.... you will find people who will accept you despite of this. If they don't, they weren't worth keeping around anyway. This goes for all types of relationships. Worse case there are dating websites for individuals with hsv. If finding a mate upsets you that much you can always give those sites a try. However, if you are in your teen years don't rush. I say that from personal experience. Enjoy your youth, enjoy being a kid and not having real big responsibilities, for that will all surely come and way too fast. You have your whole life to find someone but first find out who you are.

  5. @savemysoul go get the tests and relax. On a positive note your both pushing your 70's and now HSV has come up into question, which honestly is some great luck!!! I'm only 27 and my bf just turned 27 yesterday and we have HSV-2. His sister was only 19 when she contracted it. There are some here who got it even earlier in ways forced upon them. Take solace in that fact that you both (or at least maybe one of you) had healthy babies and deliveries despite of H. Not only that but you two are sexually active at your age!!! You still have spunk, your still alive, yes h has come up but look at the life you have lead. Don't let it put a damper on your life, specially at this age in your life.

  6. Stress does greatly impede the body, especially with h.

Not to get into full detail but everything down there is swollen, I couldn't even pee. I have asked here and found that other's had trouble urinating, and have also read it on herpes.org. My PCP has freaked me out because she couldn't understand why I couldn't pee and had me sent for more test that I took, twice already, and have come back negative on. I had spoken to my bf's sister, who contracted h about 6/7 years ago, and told her how I felt. She freaked and said that I wasn't being treated properly and that I go to the doctor and demand a higher dose of Valtrex. I truly do have a severe primary ob because it has affected my urethra and cervix (as told to be by doctors) and I was only given 500mg daily at first. I asked them two days later to put me on 2grams per day because my bf was on that much and felt a whole lot better. Finally, after speaking to the sister about the pee problem and nerve pain did I finally push for 4 grams per day. Which has made a world of a difference!!!! I'm not 100% but I'm a lot better off then I was 3 days ago.

With that I truly feel that many doctors don't truly know all that in depth on h. I had been swabbed by both my GYN and PCP with my first sore and both said it doesn't seem to be h because it wasn't acting like h. The only one who were on the money was Planned Parenthood, I had sent my bf there to be checked, and with that I'm very glad that for the last year I have donated money monthly to them because they truly do know what is happening, even if its not acting the way it should be.... With all these forums I don't understand why researchers don't reach out to us and ask us how h affected and continues to affect us. I've learned more for this website then any other.

I have received my Gardasil shots years ago and the piece of skin that she is talking about just seems beat up and swollen. The night I was infected I had very rough make up sex and I bet that didn't make things better...

  7. So my h story continues... I just went back to the doctor and I can't have sex until I see her again which is in December. There is a sore on my vagina wall, even after 8 days on generic Valtrex. I was originally put on 500mg once daily. It was upped to 2 grams daily now 4 grams for the next week. I told them about my bladder issue and I was tested for a uti which is negative. I'm also being tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia for the 3rd time. Then they tell me they want a test for hep c and hiv. And that scared the shit out of me.

I how that many of you (unfortunately) have walked this road before and I am scared. I only had protected sex once. My ex who I slept with without a condom had unprotected sex multiple times with some other woman multiple times without a condom. He didn't tell me that until after the fact... I'm kinda crushed right now and scared. I know hsv is insanely more common then hiv, but I'm scared.

The woman who my ex slept with said that she got a false positive on her herpes test because she had chickenpox as a child. I think that's bullshit, correct me if I'm wrong. But what scares me is if she lied about other diseases or is too stupid to realize.

Please keep him and I in your thoughts. He's shutting down and getting all angry at me and I'm a nervous wreck.

  8. Oddly enough, my boyfriend's sister has had h for the last 6 or 7 years now. (Shows you just how common it is) I told her my symptoms and she asked how much I was taking per day and I told her 2 grams if genetic Valtrex. She said to see what happens if I upped the dose to 4 grams per day like they did during her primary. I took 2 grams, instead of 1gram, two hours ago and I feel good. The numbness/tingling/burning is 90% gone from what it was at 5 or 6 hours ago. I'm actually excited to use the bathroom!!!! Has anyone ever heard of taking this much?

I got a severe ob, the doctor said I had a scratch mark on my cervix, vomitted, chills, joint pain, nerve pain and so on. So wouldn't a higher dose be called for?

My boyfriend on the other hand is 100% healed and he was cultured at Planned Parenthood and they told him yesterday that they couldn't get the virus to reproduce in the lab. They told him that since his body handled it so well for a primary it's very unlikely he'll even have an ob again.... lucky man....
