I dont think that it would be passed on through kissing since its not in that region... yes i am breastfeeding and because I am so concerned of passing it on from my skin to his I am considering stopping. I didnt have any issues above the belt until a few days ago and funny enough its my back that is burning and itching but no sores. The outbreaks are continuous but for the last six months always below the belt so I have learn to stay covered. My heart is breaking too at the idea that I may have passed it on to either one of my children but I keep reminding myself that this is NOT life threatening. Frankly, it would not be a big deal to me if I had figured out a way to control it. Its such a huge deal because its a non stop issue and this is not all that common. I am frustrated and I would like to cuddle with both of my kids in peace smh.

Thank you for your response. My diet is almost sugar free, extremely high in veggies, drink plenty of water, no grain, organic meat/fish. I am not pregnant anymore the outbreaks started in my third trimester it has now been going on for 6 months non-stop. The Valtrex is not the solution neither is Acyclovir. Tried both there isnt anything else medically speaking I can try. I have been taking multivitamin supplements, licorice root, lysine, garlic and zinc. nothing is changing.

Somebody please tell me that this gets better! Since January pretty much when I entered my third trimester of pregnancy I started having outbreaks in the vagina, ever since then the outbreaks are constant but move from one area to another. thighs inner, outer, buttocks, even my back sometimes.... the skin will burn a while then itch, most of the time I do not see anything then sometimes I will notice a little sore here or there. There is a daily itch in my vagina too. I used to have nerve pain and that went away actually. I have been on Valtrex for months now and no relief. Sometimes my skin even itches and tingles from head to toe. I am going to give up Valtrex, my diet is on point, I delivered a healthy baby but of course I do not get enough sleep, my stress levels are pretty high .... its driving me insane i have to keep my skin covered up and its brutally hot I would like to wear shorts. Emotionally I am way over that phase of anger disbelief etc. I honestly dont even care about having herpes because i im fine with who I am. I am bothered by the fact that my body isnt able to adjust.

Oh how I understand what ur dealing with. Like I told u the list of crazy symptoms is far too long for me, well beyond the vaginal discomfort. My partner thinks I'm a complete lunatic seeing the tests have always come back negative. Like u said I think it's the search for answers that is more exhausting than anything because once u have a clear diagnosis u can move on to treatments by trial and error. I promise to keep u posted! Things will however get better, they always do.

Is the damage from lack of clarity or the idea of it being herpes? Have u seen a specialist a gyn dermatologist somebody to look at your skin. 30 swabs? That's insane it really could be something else.

I've never had anything pus filled on my genitals no. I don't see why someone wouldn't test unless they know they have something. Girl ur not giving me much hope lol because even if he is positive for hsv1 that doesn't mean it's genital. Ughhhhhhhh... this is demoralizing like I've gotten to the point where I don't even care if I have it. I just want to know for proper management and behavior. Hugs girl!

About my negative results she said that after 2 years having elisa tests miss hsv2 is slim to none but that it misses hsv1 quite often. She does say that the testing is rather accurate I think she was as baffled as I am.

He has no other choice so yes. Well I have genital ulcers nothing puss filled no bumps straight raw patches of skin which combined with my other problems she says doesn't sound like herpes. I described the ulcers she said strange. Now, The little sores aren't fluid filled either just very itchy all over my legs bikini area down to my knees. What for me mostly indicates herpes is the neuropathic aspect. Cold sensations down my back buttocks legs, burning, itchy tingling skin all over and electric shock type sensations. Aligns with pudendal neuralgia which can be caused by the virus. Along with weird joint and muscle aches. I have a long list of symptoms who knows if they are related or not. So in other words you were never officially diagnosed with genital herpes?? That's what that sounds like. Negative swabs and you came up positive per WB for hsv1? Which of course can be genital but it also isn't confirmed. Dang. I'm on an autoimmune disease forum and if I told them that they would all have new worries lol. Because all these people with similar issues have been ruled out for genital herpes and most haven't taken a WB but several Elisa. I just don't get why for some of us it's so hard to figure out. My hope is that the testing evolves not just the "cures" this is ridiculous

Yep she actually asked me a couple questions and finds that after 2 years of potential exposure it's beyond odd. She said send my partner to get tested if his is positive it means that it hasn't converted in my blood from negative to positive yet which happens in 1% after 12 month following exposure. And that if he's negative then so am I. But yes that was Terri.

not sure if you ladies will see this update. I took the Western Blot and it came back indeterminate for both hsv1 and 2.

The elisa test is that the igg test? But yes the percentage of false negatives is actually scary means even more people probably have it too. Checking western blot now.

Well I saw another doctor because the intense burning on my butt cheeks and traveling down my size has become unbearable ... it's clearly accompanied by itchy painful red sores now they last a few days here and there but it's non stop I go from one outbreak to the next. She said between the burning itching red sores in genitals plus thighs and genital ulcers it's definitely herpes. I told her about the testing she said they could be false results not picking up on antibodies and the virus. I'm so fed up with this and I'm on Valtrex day 2. No relief.

They truly are. I don't have one yet... my last one was last week. Waiting for a referral.

Oh wow 14 years of that crazy itch. Thanks I admire my mom for sure she's a fighter. I was looking at lichen sclerosis matches a number of symptoms as well... but damn biopsies and still no answers. Yeah I'm sexuality active but I'm starting to have nerve pain during intercourse so I'm starting to feel like my sex drive is on its way out the window too... I'll be honest if I could just address one symptom lol it would be the burning sensation in my butt cheeks. Just that lol. I'm SURE U HAVE that one symptom that makes u way more miserable than the rest.

Ok lmao at the advice about the fan. Gosh there r real idiots amongst these doctors. Yeah u have a looooot going on and I'd rather not have anything at all but H is harmless period esp compared to these autoimmune diseases. I understand how the future would worry you ... I'm sure my mother is more than worried about the end she will face with MS. She's walking and for the most part still living a normal life she's had it over 30 years now. She's on some rather new medication and it works well for her I forgot the name. You are right I'm most likely predisposed to something based on family history my dad also had to have his thyroid removed. My bod really is driving me insane and I'm sure being overly aware of my symptoms can't be one bit helpful .... I have to find peace of mind and work on that ... the symptoms u have with sjrogen sound similar as well that the thing with autoimmune diseases they all overlap and have similar symptoms. For me it all started with one day googling chronic genital itch sharp pain that's how I ended up completely seeing ALL of my symptoms under vulvodynia ... but the cause of it was often mentioned as H ... anyhow over a year later the flare ups just seem to get worse and with a multitude of additional symptoms now. But uve been tremendous help.

You have been extremely helpful you have no idea! And I feel like I have been a burden but then again you are genuine bc u know how it feels! I will not give up I promise u that I'm pretty persistent. I did see that lupus ms behcets lichen sclerosis even fibromyalgia have similar symptoms too and that most of them r not identifiable in blood tests rather by process of elimination and so far they have eliminated a number of things including H based on blood tests. You give me a lot of hope despite h endo and autoimmune diseases u are so positive ... I know life isn't what happens to you but how you react to it! What r ur sjrogen symptoms if u don't mind me asking? BTW one of my dumb doctors eliminated lichen sclerosis based on my age then researched it and it even affects very young girls. So dermatologist and rheumatologist it is... also my mom has MS and it's hereditary ... ouch

No nothing dry I did have an episode of severe eye pain very dry and itchy for a few months no diagnosis then either ... ur very right autoimmune diseases cause weird stuff ... whatever it is I'll be fine with the diagnosis would just be nice to know so I can seek treatment. Right now the most bothersome is pain in my back buttocks, bumps and red spots that appear on my face and butt very itchy and feels like sunburn type skin with cold sensations, ulcers in my vagina have popped back up discharge and itchy genitals that's nothing new it's ongoing.... arghhhhhh!!!! That's me making the I'm going crazy sounds lol ... my doctors are baffled too lol

I'm not obsessing over it. I'm seriously uncomfortable and bothered by the symptoms to say the least I don't think that's obsessing I have myself said that after 2 blood tests and swabs I am waiting for a referral to a dermatologist and possibly a rhumy. I came here to get advice thinking that it must be herpes, what better place to come to i figured right? But for me the search continues so that I can hopefully find a treatment that offers relief.
