Consecutive oral herpes outbreaks

Has anyone experienced many consecutive outbreaks or heard of anyone. I used to get a cold sore on an average of every 3 years.  Now I get many outbreaks in a different spot not on the lip but close to original spot on face. There hasnt been much more than a week between them. It seems to be similar. Dr only looked at it during televisit because of mask wearing/covid. Im on suppressive valtrex for 2 months now but still get outbreaks.. The outbreaks have lasted about 8 months. Before suppressive therapy, I was on was on a couple short term courses.Valtrex seems to help but not incredibly. Its hard to tell.Thinking of going to a dermatologist to confirm. Its frustrating..

Have you looked into the effects of diet on the virus? Specifically the amount of arginine in your diet?
