Has anyone ever felt allergic or gotten more itchy to epson salt baths for herpes relief?

Recommended Posts

So I took the recommendation of many on this forum and tried out an epson salt bath today with an interesting result. I can't tell if it either didn't do anything or possibly made me more itchy? Is that possible has anyone else ever experienced this?

On the other hand tea tree oil is a gift from the gods it works so well to reduce pain and itchiness and I think it helping the blisters heal faster as well

Kitkat - My initial thought is that the Epsom Salts may have been causing the blisters to dry up and that could cause them to itch (like a scab does when it's healing). Certainly it can make them sting/burn when you are in the bath because the salt is going to work on the wound and it may continue to sting for awhile after you get out of the bath.

Try the Epsom Salts followed immediately by the Tea Tree oil ... The Epsom Salts would dry it up and attack any bacteria and the Tea Tree will help kill the virus and bacteria as well.
